I'm totally broke from the holidays but i sooo want to order the pillows!! 

But, I've got to follow my Winter of Fun objectives: #3. set a budget and stick to it!

Winter of Fun!

This SUMMER was one of the funnest I've had in a long time, and I think that was mostly due to me setting a few fun activities for myself. Sometimes a season passes us by and we realized what we missed out on.
So now, I'm aiming to have a WINTER OF FUN, despite snowstorms, shoveling, cold & flus and -30 degrees! Ok so... it might not compare to my summer of fun, but I can try!

So here are a few ideas for me to start; lmk if you have any ideas I should add!

1. Attempt skiing ... again (the last time i tried this i ended up with one ski, one pole and in the trees!) 
2. Enjoy more than one hot chocolates with friends
3. Because of Xmas spending; set a budget and stick to it!
4. Go tobogganing
5. Keep my apartment festive during the winter months
6. Try snowshoeing
7. Make snow angels with my godson :)
8. Bake all kinds of goodies!
9. Test drive a new car I'm interested in
10. Have a girls weekend with Val in T.O
11. Enjoy Old Port winter festivities
12. Investigate some neighborhoods I might want to move to this summer!
13. Stay at a cabin on a snowy mountain where I might see dear walking by the window! (hey a girl can dream!)

What does XMAS mean to you?

As we're on the cusp of Christmas, i want to remind us all to think about what this time of year is really about...

Think about what made you happy as a child. 

For me, it was the snow falling to the ground, the smell of my mom's Christmas cookies, the anticipation of the gifts under the tree, the magic of Santa Clause, giggling with my brother and sister, sitting in front of the sparkling Xmas tree, talking to my family in the U.K over the phone... 

It's hard to keep that blissful mindset as an adult, and it's easy to get caught in the hustle and bussle of the Holidays... 

This morning, I'm preparing myself for the last push: the last visit to the mall; the last minute wrapping... but i'm trying to appreciate every moment... the snow falling outside, the lights of my tree, the sound of the xmas music, anticipating time with family and friends, and all the love in my life. 

And I'll also be donating to a new charity as i do every year. This year i've chosen Mission in Action see Davina + Daniel's story here. You can shop from Davina+Daniel's ETSY shop, and until December 31st all the purchases will go directly towards Mission in Action, to build a new orphanage for the kids they visited in Africa. 

I encourage you all to think about what will make you feel good this holiday season.

Holiday Xmas Party 2011

I can't believe it's already my Holiday Office Xmas party tonight! I've been so sick for the past 2.5 weeks that i hardly had time to prep, or find an outfit! I'm throwing something together for tonight (Michael Kors top and pencil skirt); we'll see if it works out!
This year won't be as dramatic and crazy as previous years (ahem click here for past horror stories!), but it'll still be tons of fun!
I'll be uploading some pics during the evening over Twitter, so be prepared for some sexy colleagues of mine ;)
