I was trying to think how to write a blog post that would interest my readers. You all know that i don't go on dates anymore. Well, i do, but they are always with the same guy :) Which is awesome: as per my last blog post. No more random date with internet weirdos, no more meeting men in the most random spots! I'm not “riding solo” anymore.

At the beginning of Roxy's era, a year ago, i promised that i wouldn't discuss relationships. Not past ones, and not current ones. Relationships are hard enough to keep balanced without having someone blogging about how the other one pissed them off! LOL BUT… it seems i'm in a predicament because i want to keep writing and people want to keep reading… so… no worries, i will figure this out ;)

So, with no further ado, let's review the first topic of the week, something that's on my mind….

How do you go from being that awesome self-reliant-independent-chic that your friends love, to a heart-throb cool-as-fuck-girlfriend that he can fall in love with?

Ok let's start with the physical...

Men with ARMS kill me! Those strong arm muscles that can hold you just melt my heart. Especially when there are tattoos involved! But i think that goes without saying!! hhehe

The second physical trait on my list is EYES. I love when you can look into a guy's eyes and see his sensitivity, even though he may look tough and unphased on the outside. Love love love that! Feels like you can see his secret...

Ok, so emotional “hotness” — i find that's when a guy can talk about his feelings. When he can be honest. When he can entice ME to talk about MY emotions (which we all know is tough for me). When he can help ME deal with emotions by talking it out instead of shutting down and/or walking away.
I'm trying my best to be a good communicator in all my current relationships (with my guy, my girls & my work) because it's the key to ANY successful relationship. But it's hard. And for me, if i'm around people who ask questions and invite me to talk, i will be a better person.

After numerous attempts to find Mr. Right, only to end up with so many Mr. Wrongs, your good friend tells you that she no longer believes in love, how do you react to this?

hmmm are you sure you're not talking about me? lol I have to admit, it's hard to believe in love when things KEEP going wrong with men... it's hard on your ego, your emotions, and on your faith... and sometimes it seems like “giving up on love” is easier. I have to say though, when dates DO go well, your hope and belief in love re-ignite immediately. Your friend just needs to go on some GOOD dates where she feels pampered and cared for ;)

So, just when you think that available guys are IMPOSSIBLE to find: listen to this story!

My coworker was running errands, rushing around preparing for her vacation, and as she left a store in downtown MTL, she caught this guy's eye as they walked by each other... They both did a double-take and then a triple-take. She smiled and kept walking.

Suddenly, he came running down the street after her to see if she was interested in going for coffee or drinks!

She was shocked, but said yes to a drink because he was just so hot! So, they ended up spending 2 hours talking, laughing, and getting to know each other! Finally, she had to leave to continue her errands that she was totally off-schedule for! lol Sometimes you just have to give up all your tedious plans for a hot date with a stranger!

She thought that she might never hear from him again, but i'm happy to report that he texted her the following day!

Who knows how the story will continue... But, just remember, when you think that you can't find love... or at least a hot guy to go on a date with ... just think of this story! Sometimes these things STILL DO happen out of the blue! This is something i need to remind myself of everyday! hehe

Text Msging Foreplay

Ok so i'm texting and chatting with this guy i met on Zoosk. He seems pretty cool. He's been surprisingly supportive when i was very very sad this weekend. He handed out some good advice that made me smile, and touched my heart in a very mini little way ;)

Don't worry friends, i'm not head over heals for an internet guy i've never met!

He is however cute and funny and smart and AVAILABLE (that being the KEY word).
His, not-so-great points... he's a nurse (aka busy... like my ex), finishing up his school (so VERY busy), and lives in the South Shore (which to me is like a foreign land!).

But honestly, those aren't deal-breakers, and i haven't even met him for a date yet, so no judgment or happy-skips until then! I'll keep you updated, but as our relationship develops it's fun to think of all the new things to discover...

One of those fun things being SEXTING : aka the art of flirting over text message. I'm sure my sexy ladies out there are all familiar with that! You might have even heard the term CHEXTING : cheating over text! I have quite alot to say about THAT subject! But i won't get started! lol


There's an article I read explaining the REASONS you SHOULD SEXT ur lovers ;) it's very interesting ;) And i agree with every their points. So i suggest everyone to try some sexting tonight! hehe ... however, it may not be the right thing to start doing before you meet someone in person! aka my situation at the moment! lol But the beginning of a relationship can be super sexy with the use of technology we have ;)

The Drought

So, i'm sitting here, watching the Olympics, wondering what dating stories I haven't told you all! It's February in Montreal, and the dating scene is slow right now...

ok, honestly, it's dead.

It seems like every guy i meet, or in effect tonight, every guy i talk to, i'm all of a sudden interested in!
I mean tonight, I was actually flirting with the TD Financial Advisor who called me from Markham Ontario to review my GIC investments! He sounded cute i swear! And he was smart — about RRSPs! ;)
And then there was the guy the other night. I was at my friends house, watching the hockey game, and a  male friend of theirs came over. All of a sudden i'm totally checking him out! And honestly, we probably have nada in common, apart from our love for hockey! LOL i'm simply a disaster!

I'm constantly having fantasies about my athletic therapist — who is HOT and funny, but unfortunately engaged... I talk about HIM all the time on my Twitter feed ;)

It seems like any guy who comes along and talks to me, i'm drooling over! What happened to cool, sexy Roxy being selective? ;)
I'll be the first to admit, I am in desperate need for Spring to arrive! And for me to meet some eligible bachelors who aren't just the mailman!

Last Night...

Ok so today i was going to upload my post about last year's awful Valentine's Date. But last night was too much fun to not blog about!

It was Ranya's birthday :) Yes it's her real name. She is now a superstar ;) hehe
We went to Restaurant Vauvert — it was alot of fun, and definitely one of my new favorite places to go for supper, drinks and dancing. Maybe it was because of V-day, but SO many hot single guys! Single ladies, we're hitting this place up again soon!

So, once supper was over, we got up from our table and the dancing began. It was then that i noticed a man, dressed in argyle, with his girlfriend who was passing out on his arm. He sat near us and he didn't stop giving me these “come hither” looks. It was very disturbing. While talking to my friend who was sitting near him, he managed to introduce himself and mention that he had a room upstairs in the hotel. eewwww

I continued my evening, avoiding Mr.Argyle's stares, but he succeeded in getting the attention of my friends husband. Only to ask him if he had cocaine or ecstasy. lol very classy. That explained the tripped-out girlfriend he had on his arm. I think he was trying to find her a “little Valentine's Day treat”. ewww

So i had been scoping out guys all night long. Trying to decide which ones were too young for me (yes i always like the ones who look 22, lol.) ,which ones had potential, and which ones i should stay away from (aka Mr Argyle sweater). I have to say, there was alot of eye contact going on. But for some reason or another, i think guys are intimated to walk away from THEIR group of guys and into MY group of girls... it sucks. You can see their interested, but they stay clear. I think i need to get better at the “come hither look and smile” ;)

When the night was winding down, i was sitting, talking with my bestest (who's preggers and toughed out the whole night! good job lady!) and I noticed that this guy i'd been eying at the beginning of the night was standing near us, looking at me. I tried my “sexy” look and smile, but he didn't budge. He kept looking , but wasn't making a move. I obviously need some coaching in that area! lol

My lovely and pregnant “wingman” tried her best at including him in our circle as we we sent her husband to get our coats. LOL

He was 2 feet away, and i thought; he's not even going to say hi now?!

Finally everyone was ready to go and i gave him one last look, hoping, and he FINALLY said something. He said: “Are you spoken for?” cute.
And then went to say that he's sorry he waited so long to say something. Apparently “I was just so beautiful that he assumed that i'd have a boyfriend”
very cute. It's Valentine's Day after all. I can accept some compliments, right?

So, i took his Facebook name. The new way of exchanging phone numbers for me. You can check out his profile (and his age!) without any pressure!

Only problem... i realized this morning... there's at least 7 profiles with that name, and his picture isn't on any of them! So, which one do i choose? The blank facebook silhouette, who only has 5 friends? The SNL puppets? The ski mask face (who's in a relationship!!!) — let's hope not. OR the high school senior?! (Let's REALLY hope not!!)

So... it took a chance on the SNL puppets profile. We'll see if he writes back.
Maybe my exchange of facebook information wasn't the best way to get someone's info...

The Dominican Dance

Recently, i took a trip to Punta Cana, my friend and I decided we had been work-a-holics for too long without taking a well-deserved break. We booked 2 weeks before leaving at an amazing 5-star Spa & Suites Resort. We crammed in tons of work in those 2 weeks, packed our bags the day before, and then, poof! were gone before we knew it.

My friend and I have many complicated boy issues here at home... so our main focus was to relax, drink cocktails on the beach, get an awesome tan and forget about the men of Montreal! I'm happy to say that we managed to reach all these goals while away!

One great distraction were the Dominican men... some were good looking , some were built, but mostly they just made us laugh!!! Now, i'm not trying to be mean, because some of them were nice guys... but cmon' all single girls who have gone down south know that Resort Animators only think of one thing: sex.sex.sex.

My friend and I were definitely up for a good time, but not the same good time these guys were looking for. Let me describe :: The Dominican Dance.

At the disco, all tourists, animators and locals gather to let loose and dance. Since dancing is one of my favorite things, i tore up the dance floor quite a few nights during our stay ;) After a few nights, my friend and i got quite annoyed of the way Dominican guys approach us on the dancefloor.

It starts off with them looking at you from across the room: this is the foreplay. By the time they've got to you, they think they're on second base... You, however, are just thinking: “Oh No, who is this loser walking towards me?”.
Then there's maybe one or two dance steps before they literally take your hips and start thrusting! From behind or in front... doesn't matter. They even do it from the side! I wish i could show you a video of how it looks: your body is being thrown back and forth in a shocking manner!

The first night at the disco, this guy called Mosquito, one of our hotel animators, who was super flirty with me, danced with me this way. I pushed him off repeatedly until he left me alone. He came back minutes later with an important question:

did i like men?

My friend and I laughed our ass off! I just kept thinking that my sister would be so proud of me! In Mosquito's mind, if i didn't like his fabulous-thrusting-dance-moves, i was most certainly gay! Needless to say, Mosquito got stung, and his ego was too bruised to to even talk to me for the rest of the trip... LOSER
