The Car Guy :: Part2

So, if you haven't read my blog post from last week: The Car Guy, read that before you read this so you know the beginning of the story!
From ROXY

Ok, so now that you've done that... you want to know if the guy called, right?!

Well, yes, he texted almost everyday for a week! I was super busy and had plans every night that week, until finally one Friday night i had a few hours free between work and a friends party in the city. So we decided to meet up.

To be honest, the sarcastic tone in his text messages were starting to get irritating. Don't get me wrong: I am a very sarcastic person and appreciate sarcasm in a HUGE way, so for THIS to annoy me said something about his character. Most msgs were poking fun at the fact that i was so busy... And i'm sorry friends, but i'm not about to apologize for having a fabulously fun-filled life! And anyway, i didn't even know him, so why would he become my priority? ...some men think they're God's Gift...

So, as you can tell, i was a little resistant to meet him, and slightly regretting my rash judgment of the previous week, but i agreed to meet him. One date. What could be the harm in that? I called my sister to let her know my plans. I was meeting him at Mt-Royal Beaver Lake for a walk at 7pm. My sister was furious; she felt it was a very unsafe venue considering i had NO idea who this guy was. I realized she was right, so i agreed to her PlanB (since PlanA was to cancel, but i don't like to do that): which was to hide a “wine opener equipped with pocket knife” as a weapon in my purse! I felt silly putting it there, but did it anyway. Couldn't hurt right?

My sister also planned to call everyday 20-30mins and i HAD to answer, or she would come looking for me in the woods. I promised i'd stay at Beaver Lake, and would NOT go in the woods or hike up the mountain with him!

So, the time came and i met him in the parking lot — in our cars— a comfortable place for both of us obviously— to start the date. Everything started off well; a little awkward at first, but soon enough we talked for hours, about life, work, friends, family, hobbies, sports. I found out quickly that he was NOT shy.

But, what was i expecting from a guy who hung out his car window to get my attention?!
He was so up front and brutally honest. He asked lots of personal questions. I usually shy away from being so talkative about my hopes&desires, but he really wanted to know, so i opened up a little more than usual.
From ROXY

Everything was going great. I was answering the phone to my sister who kept calling, like she said she would. Had my best friend checking up on me too. I was surprised no one was spying on me from the other side of the lake! lol Then, as it started to get darker out, and the conversation continued to flow, he said: “Would you mind if i ask you a direct question?”. I laughed and said “Sure”. He'd already been so honest and up front , i didn't think he could ask me anything else too surprising...

He then said: “Can I cook you breakfast in the morning?”
Um.What? I shook my head and rolled my eyes... Why is it when you think things are going well, one comment can just fuck them all up?! OMFG So i turned to him, looked up, and said “No. You're not cooking me breakfast. And you're not seeing me in the morning. Because, i will NOT be with you tonight” He tried to laugh it off, change the subject, and move past it, but i couldn't forget what he had asked me. It's not that i'm a prude, but 'cmon you don't just ASK someone like that. It's one thing if the nights going well, and one thing leads to another, but it's another to book me ahead of time!

So, at this point, i was not impressed, and decided to start steering our walk towards our cars. This date was going downhill quickly in my opinion. Especially since he kept mentioning that he never gets turned down, so he KNOWS that i'll be calling him later. He KNOWS that i'll change my mind. He's simply TOO charming. OMG this guy was a hoot. He was nowhere NEAR as hot as he thought he was! And there was no way in hell i was ever calling him again. I even said, while laughing at him, that i really doubted i would EVER be calling him again. He laughed thinking i was the comedian, but really, the joke was on him. I've never met someone with an ego like his!

I left in my car as quickly as I could, leaving him grinning, thinking i was playing a cute game of cat and mouse. But really, I was SUPER happy to have ended the date when i did, and decided that i would NEVER pull over for someone on the road again.

And , HE was the one who called and texted me later that night, saying “cmon i know you want to...” (a phone call i never answered of course) and for weeks after. I guess he eventually realized that i was being truthful when i said i wouldn't be seeing him ever again. And to this day, I still get random calls from him. I never answer.

The Car Guy...

You might not know it, but Roxy can be quite a shy girl. I am not one to walk up to a stranger or give my number out to just anyone, i take calculated risks, and am building confidence in myself just like any other of us chicas.
So the story i'm about to tell is quite out of character for me...

I was driving in my car, listening to music, sun shining on me, windows rolled down, utterly happy — as i usually am in my car. I was almost home , getting stuck at every traffic light. I was totally in my own world, when at a red light, i noticed the driver of the car ahead of me (who had just cut me off!) leaning out of his window waving me down.

I couldn't understand what he was doing. Was something wrong with my car? A flat tire? Was he pissed at me, even though HE was the one who had cut ME off?!
Then he reached back into his car and whipped out his cell phone! ...oh god... there wasn't anything wrong with my car... he just wanted my number!

So, this random crazy guy was hanging out of his window, his whole upper torso was pointing outward towards incoming traffic — and there were cars coming in fast! So, while i was laughing (because this was crazy, and yes, a bit flattering) I was waving my arms frantically for him to get back in his car — the last thing i wanted was this guy getting decapitated!
But he misread my waves and understood it as an approval of his “moves” and an indication for him to pull over! He smiled enthusiastically and got back in his car and pulled over at the next light...
now what do i do?
So, i pulled up next to him at the red light and rolled down my passenger window. I told him he was a crazy guy and what was he doing?! He said he didn't know what came over him and would i give him my #?
i didn't know what to say & before i had a chance to answer, people starting honking their horns for us to move. the light was green.
So, i shouted “No” to him while laughing, and he simply nodded and motioned for me to move ahead of him. That was kinda nice, i thought.

So, i drove past a few more lights and could see him grinning at me in my rear-view mirror. I started thinking about it; he seemed quite cute from what i could see: dark hair, nice figure, strong body... plus i'd secretly always wondered if i'd meet someone while driving , because that's where i'm always at my happiest... he drove a Volkswagen (♥ those cars)... he had let me drive ahead of him... hmmmmm.....should i?....
So. I pulled over.
From ROXY

The second i stopped and he pulled up behind me, i shook my head and thought “what am i doing?!”. But, he ran to my car before i had a chance to change my mind, and said “so... do you do this often?” LMAO! I said “No, do you?!”. He said “no”, but i'm not sure i believed him. He did a cute run back to his car to get his phone and then i gave him my #. He asked right away if i was free that night. It was a Saturday... he doesn't know Roxy... i always have plans on a Saturday! So i told him to call me and we'd go out another night.
i drove away smiling...
...that doesn't happen everyday...

Stay tuned next week to find out if he called me back and where we might have gone on our first date! ;)

The Repair Man

LMAO you won't believe this! I just HAVE to share! I've been having problems GALORE in my apartment appliances and my little old land lady tries her best, but is not the best landlord in the world. She hired this appliance fix-it man to come fix the many problems i'm having. He's a nice older man, probably in his 50-60s. My landlady is probably mid-60s. Plus they are from the same area in Europe (Ukraine and Romania). I thought about them being a good match when we first met him the other day, but he's married.

Well.... today he came to fix my appliances, on the way out he needed to stop by her house to settle money and discuss my appliance issues. He said he was in a rush to get to another client when he left my place. 30 minutes later i decided to go give the measurements of the washing machine to my landlady , so i rang her doorbell.

She answered, but all disheveled... she opened the door only a crack (she was wearing clothes though! THANK GOD!), and his toolbox was in the doorway! Normally she wants to talk for hours, but she practically slammed the door in my face!!

I don't know what was going on, but something's up!! Do you think my landlady and the repair man hooked up??!! If so, you go girl!!! lol

Are YOU ready...for Halloween?

So chicas, what are YOU wearing for Halloween this year?
I'm going to an awesome Halloween party this year. I never usually get into the whole Halloween/dressing-up thing... (I guess it's the British in me:Halloween is hardly even celebrated in the UK) So, i splurged and spend ±70$ on a costume. And guess what i am? Yes, you guessed it! A vampire!

As most of you chicas know, Twilight is like THE best vampire series on the planet. At any age, you will get completely engrossed in these stories (P.S. as much as i love the movies, they don't give the books justice at all!). So if you're reading this and HAVEN'T read the series , you need to get up, call a friend who has the first book (i know you all know at least ONE person who owns the book!), and drive over to her place immediately. Do not go back onto your computer UNTIL you've read 20pages of the first book. I promise you'll be hooked.

So, now back to my costume. I bought it at Montreal's best sex store: Seduction (it's the picture below, minus the red boots—i'll have to wear my black ones). My friend and i had a blast trying on about 20 different costumes each. Some were only bedroom appropriate, aka a little TOO sexy! God my friend is HOT!! (xo) But finally i found my sexy, but not too raunchy, Halloween costume for my party!! What do you think?

I just hope with this really cold temperature we've been having the last few weeks, that i don't completely freeze my ass off getting to this party! LOL

So, don't hold back, tell me: what are YOU wearing for Halloween?!

The Videotron Guy

Most don't know, but a little while ago, i moved from an apt full of roomates (i love you girls) to a cute little apt all by myself. This now means that i have to take care of myself all by my lonesome. My sinlge girls know that sometimes that task can be rather tedious...

When i first moved in, one of the things i had to take care of was my TV and internet connection.

Roxy needs her internet! :)

So, one Saturday morning, i hear a knock at the door, and in front of me was a sexy Spanish guy. “I'm here to install your Videotron 'mam”.

Are you kidding me?

From ROXY
Immediately, i could hear all my friends comments about the Spanish Pool Boy/Gardener fantasies in my head. He was tall, with long dark hair in a ponytail, standard Videotron jumpsuit, tanned skin, dark eyes and shiny pearly teeth. He was grinning at me as he entered my home.

Installation was going to take a while, so he told me to continue whatever i was doing prior to his arrival (which was watching Sex And The City episodes) and he'd try to stay out of my way. I've never questioned watching SATC before. I mean, it's my favorite show, but today, while sitting on the couch, with Pablo (i SWEAR that was his name!!!) fixing wires to my right, and Samantha (from SATC from those who don't watch the program) having orgasms to my left... i kinda wish i had something else playing in my trusty DVD player!

I tried to FFWD through the sex scenes without him noticing, but his grins on his face indicated that he knew what i was doing. It was already awkward enough sitting there while he wound wires around my apt, without hearing Samantha's and Charlotte's sex moans and groans...

And all I kept thinking was: OMG Samantha would totally DO this guy right here!
And it seemed pretty clear that HE would have totally been into it! Let's just say... Pablo was very... very friendly.

He kept saying my name over and over again with a Spanish accent. I couldn't help but giggle (i mean what else are you supposed to do?). Esp when he insists that he's installed the internet “so good”....“i promise you... i'm so good”...“but ...Roxy, you call me if sometin' not working ok? I be here in a second...” ;)

THEN his phone rang, and SUAVE MENTE starting blaring, and i couldn't help laughing when his hips starting swaying to the beat. Who would have thought the Videotron guy would be dancing around my living room?! But hey! It's me! I attract this kind of randomness!

He was soon gone after ending his Spanish conversation with the unknown caller. A few winks and hip shimmies in my direction, and some teases about programming my Illico box in Spanish, and he was on his way to the next lucky lady! Who knew having Videotron installed would be so much fun?!
Only my life!!

Friends with an ex...

Ok, so i just want to say that it is POSSIBLE, you CAN be friends with an ex (5 years later when you've both moved on of course). A few weeks ago I spent 12 hours in a car with my ex-boyfriend, driving to T.O, and it was just like driving with an old friend :)

Think of it this way: you already have your inside jokes, there's no uncomfortable silences, and he knows when you need to eat before you get grouchy!

I feel proud that after all the BS we've been through, that we've got to the point in our friendship, where we can just be. Just enjoying each other's company with no sexual tension and no messy emotional baggage! Never thought i'd see the day, but i'm glad i did. We're actually planning another trip to see our friends again mid-November !
Who'da thunk THAT 5 years ago eh girls?!
Oh, and please note that NOT all ex's deserve your friendship after a break-up! This “being friends with an ex-thing” might represent a very small percentage of cases! Beware of all the ass-hole ex's you may have that don't deserve your kind friendship!

The Guy Who Had Anxiety...

So, I think you girls are ready to hear another one of my more disastrous dates I've ever had. This one is about a guy i met whilst still on the dating site i was subscribed to early last year.

Him and I had met online, and emailed/chatted for about 6 wks prior to him asking me to go have coffee. I guess i should have been suspicious that it took him so long to as me out... And for our big first date, he chose a really noisy resto/bar in Laval, but i didn't mind — i knew they had great martinis! (Café Univers)

So, that night, i got all dolled up, put on a super cute outfit, makeup was perfect, and was actually really excited. After all, this was someone who i had a really good connection with over email and msn...
...and you get those pre-date jitters, and think “maybe this one could really work out...”
Then... just as i was about to leave my apt (all cute, in my killer heels, and roomies approvals), i get this random text msg from my date. Saying he just can't do it, that he couldn't meet me for our date...
UM, what?...
At first, i was confused, but as we texted back and forth he told me that he had an anxiety problem and rarely left his house. He ALSO explained that he had planned the date at a noisy resto/bar because his anxiety causes an embarrassing condition :: UNCONTROLLABLE FARTING!!!
OMG! I was beginning to thank my lucky stars that i hadn't left the house!
So, as a compromise, he wanted to have a “phone date” instead... but... he needed 20 minutes to prepare himself... um...weird!
From ROXY

So, he called 20 minutes later. I had already changed in my pyjamas and was removing makeup!! lol And so, we talked.... well, actually... HE talked... and THANK GOD i hadn't gone to meet this guy! He was so NOT for me. So NOT the person he described himself to be for 6 weeks! We had complete opposite interests, he was a total hermit with extreme anti-social skills... plus as he went on to explain: he was someone who had got arrested for failing to pull his car over while driving drunk and running 6 stop signs while being chased by the cops...
UM...NO.
And that was that. We never talked, texted, or had any more phone dates again! And i started to keep notes when a guy didn't ask me out after 4wks of emails/chatting!!

Party for a cause

I went to an FANTABULOUS party that a coworker of mine helped plan and organize, called:: ÉLÉMENT.

It was the first édition of these fabulous parties.

Coworkers and friends all gathered for an evening of dancing, drinking and flirting ;) Tons of beautiful men and women attended and schmoozed all night long. It was loads of fun!

Congrats to my special lady friend who dedicated so much of her time and effort to this cause. We are all so proud of you!

Now, what you all really want to see :: some pics of the soirée! (courtesy of my friend and photographer: Savitri Bastiani)

I have to say though, that the party's beautiful men in suits seemed quite shy all evening. I was with a group of sexy women and no one was getting hit on! What's that about?! One cute guy did finally get the guts to approach me. He obviously needed quite a few drinks to get the courage!! He was cute tho... i gave him my number and told him if he could remember it the next day, he could call me. Haha ... no phone call to date!
