I'm The Overthinking Queen!

I could hardly concentrate on blogging the last few days because of the crazy hockey games going on!! Hockey is taking over my life! LOL

So , yes, updates :: date #3 with The Frenchie
Psssst if you haven’t read the first few dates, catch up here.
Not sure what to say about our last date... I was left feeling a bit disappointed, but I think I’m just being a loser. I wasn't disappointed with him: he’s still floating my boat, but more related to my expectations of the evening. I think this is a common thing that most girls go through... And most likely something that guys don’t question at all! Lol I guess, for us girls, we start expecting things to go the way we’ve experienced them in the past, and the moment they don’t, we start questioning everything.

Like for instance; last night. I cooked supper and he liked it (or was polite enough to say he did!), we talked while I cooked, we laughed, we had wine, we ate and laughed at random stupid TV shows, and then by 10 he had to go (he works early). He kissed me at the end of the evening, and he didn’t really linger.

Maybe I’m just feeling raging teenage-like hormones, but I wanted more than just a kiss...
and i was left wondering if i had done something to cause him to leave, or if simply he wasn't interested in me anymore. Truth is: most likely he WAS tired, needed to get home and had enough respect to not 'make-out and run'!

I guess with girls, NOTHING can ever be the way we want : if he’s too into us: he’s clingy; if he’s too touchy-feely: he ONLY wants sex; if he’s being respectful: he’s not that into me!

So, here's a NEW dating tip that applies to me and many many women out there :: STOP over-thinking things! It was a good date, I like him, he likes me, and he was a gentleman : point final. We’ll get our groove on some other time! Lol

Date Alert!

Ok, so get ready for it again! I have a date with a random on Thursday this week. Don't worry friends, nowhere sketchy i promise. We're meeting at a well known resto/bar that will have the Habs game playing. I made reservations in the bar (aren't i a great date?! lol).
GOOD thing= there will be something entertaining to watch if the conversation doesn't flow... BAD thing = i'm pretty much stuck there until the end of the game (±3hrs) if the conversation SUCKS!
Oh well, i guess i'll see... So, do you want to stats of this one? Well, for one, he's not extroverted like The Naked Guy (which is  a good thing). I met him on Zoosk... He says he's rarely goes on dates (good thing i think!). He is 34! Big change for me, since the guys i seem to meet are always closer to the 24 range!!  He seems really down to earth, enjoys playing sports, we like to do same kind of activities (walking, learning to cook, etc) + he goes to crazy parties just like moi ;) So, he could be a match, but let's not get ahead of ourselves! We will know alot more Thursday evening. I'll tweet u on how good or bad things are going ;) hehe follow my tweets here

wish me luck chicas -- any advice for this one? ;)

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #6

Dating tip #6: Be Confident! You ARE a sexy chica! If you know it, he'll sense it!

We all know how it feels to have someone important to us stomp on our heart and self-esteem. Sometimes it's hard to get past those negative feelings we have towards ourselves. Heck, i'm trying to take my own advice right now!

But, on your date, be someone you dream of being! “It's your attitude about yourself that a man will adopt” Every new date gives you a new outlet to be who YOU want to be! Sexy, charming, seductive... confident.

“Act like a prize and you'll turn him into a believer.”
Quotes are from the book Why Men Love Bitches, by Sherry Argov. It's a strange name for a book, but trust me, if you're one of those girls who are always “too nice” in relationships, it'll change your life around! ;) It did for me! Now, i'll have to buy her next book: Why Men Marry Bitches. Lol

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #5

Stay Mysterious.
Your date doesn't need to know all your nitty-gritty details right off the bat. Intrigue him with your sexy-style & that sexy-smile, without giving away all your secrets.

It's not about playing a game, it's chosing the right moment to reveal yourself to him, and it's also understanding the principles of human nature. “A man will always want what he can't have. When a man meets a woman and she seems nonchalant, it becomes a challenge for him to win her affections.”

From ROXY

“If you start out dependant, it turns him off. But if it is something he can't have, it becomes more of a challenge for him to get it.”

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #4

Know your DEAL-BREAKERS. Know what they are before the date even begins.
You need to know a little about yourself to really enjoy a date to the fullest. Have you been honest with yourself? Do you know what/who you're looking for? Or more importantly, who you're NOT looking for? What don't you like? What won't you accept?

If you have an idea of those answers, you'll feel more confident about the date and you won't end up with Mr.Wrong a month later and wonder what happened!

To give you an idea, here are some of my deal-breakers. Keep in mind though, that everyone's different!
#1. No drugs. (been through enough of that in the past — don't want to be involved with someone who uses, this includes cigarettes too)
#2. He's mature (and hopefully not younger than me!) (ok well this is a harsh statement. But i'm tired of being with guys who aren't anywhere near ready for the next steps in life that i want to approach soon. And age does play a factor in that type of maturity. Been there, done that. So someone around my age or + is what i'm “looking” for.)
#3. He's self-sufficient. (I have a busy life, and he needs to have a life too. He needs to be able to take care of his own business. I'm not acting as anyone's mother — not this time around! No sir!)

I found the dating site i had joined (eharmony) was really great at helping you discover what you're wants and “absolute NO's” are. It might be worth filling out a profile one day just to discover more about yourself! (it seriously takes at least half an hour to fill it out!)

Refresh, Renew, Re-Love

I read this article mid-summer and i ripped it out and pinned it on my board at home. It's message continues to stick with me to this day. Sometimes is takes a little article like this to believe in yourself and open your mind to loving someone new, or at least enjoying the journey! I hope that by passing this message on and it inspires one of you :)

REFRESH, RENEW, RE-LOVE
--Living Life and Loving It
--

To most people change is scary. I am not afraid of changes; it makes life challenging. After break-ups you think you'll never love again. You think, “I will be alone for the rest of my life”. But really, people are alone because they choose to be. If you're looking for Mr.Perfect, you will be alone forever. You should always be open to meeting new people and dating should always be fun and exciting. Don't set your mind on a type. I have set people up with complete opposite of their type and some of those have been my most successful fix ups.

After a separation or break-up, people need to detox. Take some time to yourself. Enjoy time at the gym, spa, eating healthy, get your hair styled and start looking your best all over again. Don't forget those manicures and pedicures. everyone should feel beautiful from top to bottom. This re-vamp of appearance will help compliment the amazing morals, heart and soul that were there the whole time.

Don't be so fast to judge other people's opinions. They might have been dumped by the person they're judging or that person might remind them of someone who hurt them. They liked someone and the feelings weren't reciprocated. Your situation might be different.
Remember: there is someone for everyone and the world is pretty small.
So unless you see his or her picture on the “Most Wanted” list, don't panic and run away. Give it a shot. Make a great first impression.

Everyone should be open to think outside the box. Try and date someone who is not the typical man or woman. Try eating food that you could never imagine trying. As a kid, my mother traveled to Japan and used to send me postcards telling me how she ate raw fish everyday. I would imagine her eating someone's goldfish out of their aquarium, only to grow up and realize she was referring to sashimi! I actually tried it on my first blind date.
Life should be like you're at a cocktail party every day. Try a bit of everything and see how fun life can be!

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #3

Be yourself — you want him to know YOU and be interested in the REAL YOU, for the right reasons. I'm not saying you should give him every gritty detail (details in Tip#5 to come!), but make sure you're open and honest about your important details. Don't hide behind a facade and pretend you're someone you're not.

Love who you are, and don't be afraid to let that sexy chica shine!
“Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and speak your mind. It will not only earn his respect, but in some cases it will even turn him on.” — Why Men Love Bitches (Sherry Argov)

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #2

Be interested in learning more about HIM and his likes/dislikes, as weird as they might be. You need to know as much about him as you can if you think you might want to see for date #2! You might find that his strange interests are what you like most about him. Or maybe you'll find out that he's a wack-job and you definitely don't want to see him again! lol
So, ask questions, don't be shy :: you might find that you have more in common than you initially thought!
For example, Tiger and I started really asking each other random questions on our first few dates and we found out weird things we had in common :: we share the same favorite cereal (which you can only get in the U.K!), we have had the same amount and type of dental surgeries (which are rare), and the only tea he has in his kitchen cabinet is my favorite English tea (bought in England, and he knows how to make it the proper English way). Random facts for most people, but kept making me think: where did this guy come from?! (in a good way. lol)
Insignificant little facts can lead to stronger connections between people.

Roxys' Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #1

Roxy's Tip #1 is to make HIM feel comfortable. Once a guy feel that you're laid-back and relaxed about being out with him, the pressure on HIM comes off and he'll start to act more like himself! And when he's acting like himself, you're more inclined to know if you want to see him for date #2!
From ROXY

So, smile, compliment and be friendly. This always seems to be the #1 way to score a second date (if u want one of course!).
