If an ex asks you to dinner, should you go?

Hmmm, good question, i would say it really depends on your situation in the present... do you still have feelings for this ex? are you with someone new? did things end badly between you guys?

Depending on the answers to those questions, i would probably still say: go and see what he/she has to say! Even if it's not to re-kindle the flame, you might get closure from that last dinner conversation together.

Just remember, if he was an ass the first time around, most likely he'll be an ass again -- regardless of all the “wining and dining” he might be prepared to do! Good luck!

The Good Girl

Some people just attract others. Whether it's animal instinct or charm... my coworker/friend has that je-ne-sais-quoi that draws people in from afar. She's pretty new to the dating world, considering she's been in serious relationships her whole adult life. But, let me tell you, she's wasting no time and now handling men with a finesse that we should all admire!

We'll call her The Good Girl (you'll understand why later in the story). You might actually remember her, I told the story of her first random dating experience a few months ago, and trust me, this one is just as spontaneous ;)

So there's This Guy... i've been seeing

So there's this guy... isn't there always?!... that i've been seeing.

And i haven't written about him much to everyone's disappointment — well maybe once...
I just decided on a new tactic for this one... trying NOT to put pressure on it, or jinx it.

So basically i decided to NOT talk about it, even though he's been wonderful every step of the way. I guess every girl gets tired of dates never working out the way you hope they would. And sometimes when your feelings are involved and “out there” (like mine of the world wide web!), it can get... extra frustrating.

But now, there's good things going on here, so i feel the need to talk, so here it goes. Let's hope i don't jinx this!

Friday, July 23, 2010

so there's this guy...

Ok I don’t want to jinx anything or even say one word about it, but there’s this guy I’m crushing on. And we have a date tmrw night. I’m excited. Really excited. I don’t have a name for him, I don’t want to make up a name for him. He’s a friend of a friend, and I don’t want them to even know what’s happening between us... Weird of me, I know. That’s all for now. Wish me luck! xo

SUCCESS!

UPDATE! My A/C works! My “Installation Date” was a success! My “date” installed the old A/C my friends gave me from their garage. I was elated! And was prepared to take him out for supper and a movie to thank him. But he was too “tired” to even stay... He said he wouldn't be good company in the state he was in and could we take a raincheck? I said “sure” of course. I was just thrilled that he still had come by to help me out!
Turns out, he wasn't after any booty at all! Maybe he is, actually, a good guy...
You wouldn't have been able to convince me of THAT last year. Do you remember him? He was my first official blog post because i was soooo in TABARNAQUE against him! Read that post to find out what had pissed me off so much!
I have to say tho, since then, we've taken a loooong no-talking break, after months we started chatting on MSN again, and now we go to the movies from time to time. And i was honestly shocked that he wanted to help me with this A/C... I thought he must have other motives.
After all that though, i think my lack of feelings for him is pretty clear. I'm pleased that he was just coming over to help me, and expected nothing in return.
At least i know i'm not interested, and he can simply be a guy friend!
On that note, I also want to give a shoutout to my best guy friend, BRUCE, who came all the way out here to help me last Tuesday night. He's the one who did the installation of the first A/C (that we didn't know was broken). Thx JB! Ur the best! xo And also thx to A who gave me this A/C from her garage!  I owe all you guys!

xo kisses

A/C installation date !

So i have a car washing, A/C installing, possible-dinner DATE Friday night. Very exciting. Well, the A/C installation part of it anyway! For those not aware... Montreal's been in a serious heat wave all week and my apartment is about 98 degrees (WITHOUT humidity) at the moment. I escaped to sleep at my parents house last night because melting away is NOT a sexy thing.

And yes, i might be using this guy just a LITTLE. But, i already know he's nice, plus we've dated in the past, and IF he can get that A/C to work i will be ELATED! Who knows, if the A/C breeze blows in the right direction, he might even get some! ;)

(He doesn't know this, but that's alright. Let's let him sweat it out. Literally.) hehe

Keep The Faith!

So, just when you think that available guys are IMPOSSIBLE to find: listen to this story!

My coworker was running errands, rushing around preparing for her vacation, and as she left a store in downtown MTL, she caught this guy's eye as they walked by each other... They both did a double-take and then a triple-take. She smiled and kept walking.

Suddenly, he came running down the street after her to see if she was interested in going for coffee or drinks!

She was shocked, but said yes to a drink because he was just so hot! So, they ended up spending 2 hours talking, laughing, and getting to know each other! Finally, she had to leave to continue her errands that she was totally off-schedule for! lol Sometimes you just have to give up all your tedious plans for a hot date with a stranger!

She thought that she might never hear from him again, but i'm happy to report that he texted her the following day!
Who knows how the story will continue... But, just remember, when you think that you can't find love... or at least a hot guy to go on a date with ... just think of this story! Sometimes these things STILL DO happen out of the blue! This is something i need to remind myself of everyday! hehe

Sitting on a Park Bench...

Psst this is date #4! If you need to catch up on this dating saga The Frenchie: read here for date #3, #2 and our first date.

So, date 4... It was a great evening — he did everything right, including sending me home @ the end of the night ;)  He's making me feel like a boy-crazy teenage girl!

He cooked me supper, and it was good! He doesn't cook often, so i really appreciated the effort. Boys, take note! =We loooove the effort! It was very cute.

Then, we walked through this gorgeous park in the Plateau to an ice cream shop for desert ♥ totally cute.
We ate ice cream on a little park bench and all i wanted to do was kiss him. So i did ;)

Then we went back to his place; listened to music all night long... until we decided that i had to go home...
I think this mix of hot tattoos, cute smile, nice eyes and showing me new music, is the new way to my heart. He makes me happy, crazy and nervous all @ once! I cant wait to see him again!

I'm The Overthinking Queen!

I could hardly concentrate on blogging the last few days because of the crazy hockey games going on!! Hockey is taking over my life! LOL

So , yes, updates :: date #3 with The Frenchie
Psssst if you haven’t read the first few dates, catch up here.
Not sure what to say about our last date... I was left feeling a bit disappointed, but I think I’m just being a loser. I wasn't disappointed with him: he’s still floating my boat, but more related to my expectations of the evening. I think this is a common thing that most girls go through... And most likely something that guys don’t question at all! Lol I guess, for us girls, we start expecting things to go the way we’ve experienced them in the past, and the moment they don’t, we start questioning everything.

Like for instance; last night. I cooked supper and he liked it (or was polite enough to say he did!), we talked while I cooked, we laughed, we had wine, we ate and laughed at random stupid TV shows, and then by 10 he had to go (he works early). He kissed me at the end of the evening, and he didn’t really linger.

Maybe I’m just feeling raging teenage-like hormones, but I wanted more than just a kiss...
and i was left wondering if i had done something to cause him to leave, or if simply he wasn't interested in me anymore. Truth is: most likely he WAS tired, needed to get home and had enough respect to not 'make-out and run'!

I guess with girls, NOTHING can ever be the way we want : if he’s too into us: he’s clingy; if he’s too touchy-feely: he ONLY wants sex; if he’s being respectful: he’s not that into me!

So, here's a NEW dating tip that applies to me and many many women out there :: STOP over-thinking things! It was a good date, I like him, he likes me, and he was a gentleman : point final. We’ll get our groove on some other time! Lol

Date #2 With Frenchie

Psssst if you haven’t read about our first date, catch up here.

So, date #2! The Frenchie invited me to a BBQ + watch the Habs game this past Saturday night at his friend’s place. I have to admit that I was nervous. I hardly knew the guy, and now I’m already meeting 10 of his good friends! But, surprisingly (again) it went very well! I was worried becuz his friends are French, but in reality I speak French fine, and his friends turned out to be such nice ppl, that it didn’t even matter.

He gained points with me all evening long ;)
U know what i’m talking about girls = ur secret little checklist when ur on a date!
He got the healthy food from the grocery store for us to cook on the BBQ (CHECK= he’s healthy), I brought the wine, he drove us there (we met at his place first), he introduced me to every person in the room (CHECK = he has manners), he let me sit in the comfy chair and didn’t leave my side all evening (CHECK = he made me feel super comfortable), he got me snacks becuz the food was taking a while to cook and he made sure my wine glass was always full (CHECK = he’s attentive), he made sure I got all the food I wanted and filled my plate with all the stuff I liked, he explained all the jokes that I hadn’t understood, and he saw that later on in the evening that I yawned and 5-10mins later we were walking out the door. He definitely knew how to integrate me and make me feel comfortable! I like this dating an older man thing ;) hehe

So, at that point we went back to his place. And his place, let me tell you. Is awesome. I even asked him to break it to me softly and tell me who decorated his place (I thought maybe his ex-girlfriend, his mom....) but it was him! He told me his inspiration and where he bought everything. He even has a few gorgeous art pieces that he'd bought himself. It’s masculine and sexy, and comfortable. Again, the checklist, “check check check” = he has an eye for art and style.

Plus he’s big into music. I’m BIG into music, and he seems to know more than me. His friends all go to him for the latest/best music, and his ipod is always the entertainment for the evening. That’s cool. Big CHECK! Lol

So, after the BBQ, we hung out on the couch at his place and he played some great music I had never heard. And it was late. And I’d had almost a whole bottle of wine. Was too tipsy to drive, but too comfortable to leave ;) Long story short, I stayed over. But now now no judgment; I was a good girl and he was a gentleman. But, yes, it was a fun evening with hardly no sleep! That’s as many details as you guys get on that!! LMAO

I’m sure by now he’s wondering what I’m saying about him on my blog. As you remember, from my last blog post, he knows about it and thinks it's cool. He even chose his nickname: The Frenchie.

So far i have nothing bad to say: it’s all good things! I mean, he even made me a quick breakfast before I had to rush out of his place the next morning to do all the things I need for Mother’s Day!

Stay tuned : date #3 is setup for Tuesday night at my place. I’ve offered to cook him supper. Now, what the hell do I make?!!!! AGH! I need something simple that I won’t ruin/burn, but something interesting enough to impress him ;) Any ideas fellow cooks?

The Frenchie

So.... exciting news :: update on last night's date = it was amazing! Maybe the bouncer has FINALLY let me into the ‘normal’ pool of guys (long story that I’ll explain this weekend! Lol). The date was so good in fact, that I woke up at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep for hours because I was really excited.
And yes, maybe I am jumping the gun here, but I think a little bit of happiness is good for the soul ;) Even if it doesn’t work out in the end. Right girls?!
So, let me tell you everything! First of all, I had a crisis at 5pm, when the restaurant/bar I had made reservations with 2 days prior, called me to CANCEL my reservation! Or actually, to tell me that they simply don’t make bar reservations on nights when there are hockey games!! There had been a mistake made when I had called on Tuesday. I was beyond furious! How dare they call me 2 hours before game time! Making reservations anywhere else in the city would have been impossible at that time!

So, I text my date and explain the situation. Totally in distress. And surprisingly, he said: ‘No problem, i’ll go to the bar an hour early to get us seats’ !!! Wow, I was super impressed! The date hadn't even begun and he was in my good books!

So, 2 hrs later, I get to the bar, and he’s even more good looking in person than in his pictures on the internet. BTW we met over Zoosk — he is the last one I've decided to talk to, because so many of the Zoosk guys are after one thing... and I am getting annoyed! All the things I had sensed about him from our emails were accurate: he’s laidback, funny, chill, speaks English amazingly well considering he’s French, and he was honest about his profile. Plus in person, our conversation flowed so easily, that I can hardly remember what we talked about for 4 hours. And even though the big hockey game was on the big screen, I hardly watched. Which is pretty shocking for me! He was just really interesting to talk to.

I even told him about my blog, and surprisingly he thought it was great! He wanted to know what I was going to write about him, which of course I didn’t tell..... and he’s probably dying to know today! Hahaha At least, for him, he was the one who decided on his nickname : The Frenchie. Which I think it really appropriate, because while leaving the bar he kissed me and man he is a gooood kisser! Not like Mr. Teeth Kisser from a few weeks ago! Ewweeie lol

So, on my drive home, I was already being a typical girl and hoping he was going to call me in the next few days to make plans. But, I didn't have to think about it long, because he texted me last night to say he had a great time and hopes to see me again soon! YAY!
I'm not sure what the plan is for date #2, but I’m really looking fwd!! Stay tuned and have a great day chicas! xo AND GO HABS GO!!!!!

Date Alert!

Ok, so get ready for it again! I have a date with a random on Thursday this week. Don't worry friends, nowhere sketchy i promise. We're meeting at a well known resto/bar that will have the Habs game playing. I made reservations in the bar (aren't i a great date?! lol).
GOOD thing= there will be something entertaining to watch if the conversation doesn't flow... BAD thing = i'm pretty much stuck there until the end of the game (±3hrs) if the conversation SUCKS!
Oh well, i guess i'll see... So, do you want to stats of this one? Well, for one, he's not extroverted like The Naked Guy (which is  a good thing). I met him on Zoosk... He says he's rarely goes on dates (good thing i think!). He is 34! Big change for me, since the guys i seem to meet are always closer to the 24 range!!  He seems really down to earth, enjoys playing sports, we like to do same kind of activities (walking, learning to cook, etc) + he goes to crazy parties just like moi ;) So, he could be a match, but let's not get ahead of ourselves! We will know alot more Thursday evening. I'll tweet u on how good or bad things are going ;) hehe follow my tweets here

wish me luck chicas -- any advice for this one? ;)

The Naked Guy

ok so i'm really excited! I have a date with a guy i'm interested in tomorrow night. He's taking me to see the movie Shutter Island, cuz that's what i wanted to see. He's already seen it once, but he said he doesn't mind seeing it a second time: he said he'll have more time to focus on me that way. I don't know if that's creepy or cute, but because i like him, i'll just think of it as cute! lol
So, you're probably wondering why the title of this post is NAKED GUY.
I'll explain. I met this guy on Zoosk; he had winked at me and he had a really cute profile picture (a few actually) and then BOOM a random naked picture. I mean, he's wearing boxers, but he's pretty naked in my opinion. HOT though, but naked. Usually i don't give these guys a second look because you assume they're full of themselves, but i felt compelled to write to him. I said that he was cute in his profile pictures; why did he need to post a naked picture of himself?! We could see that he was fit and good looking; he didn't need to sell himself to the devil (the Zoosk devil)! LOL
He wrote me back saying that he was glad he could make me laugh so hard, and we've been chatting ever since.
He's funny, cute, and well, i know he has a good body, so that's always a plus!
We've been talking non-stop since last Thursday night. We're going to dinner and movie tomorrow night. Wish me luck!! xo
P.S. i'm considering posting his naked photo, but i don't want him to read this one day and get mad... so i'll opt out for now. If things don't go well tmrw i'll post his pic immediately! HAHAHA

So I Have a Date This Saturday...

So as you know, i'm playing around on Zoosk. It was really just to laugh about, but i started chatting with this guy from the Southshore and i actually kind of started having fun. We chatted, then texting (no, no SEXTING yet), tonight we spoke on the phone, we've been playing phone tag all week, and this Saturday is D-Day. Date night.

He's invited me to Skratch...
It's kinda juvenile. Like my 9th grade boyfriend invited me to Skratch.
BUT i'm trying not to be judgmental or negative.

Already he's somehow managed to tell me every reason under the sun there is for NOT being with him; he actually listed them to me on MSN the other night at 2am. Not very bright on his part. I really have lost some interest since then. He asked me why i was single; the question I HATE.
Don't u think if i knew WHY i was single, that i would do something different?! Maybe guys are just too dumb that i meet!!
I didn't answer him that way; i mean i am a polite girl. I talked about bad timing and those type of things. So, when i asked him the same, he said: “ Do you want me to list the reasons?”

And i know you you all want to know what they are!! lol
So, here they are: the reasons to NOT be with Mr...Southshore;
  1. He's “hot stuff” (yes he SAID this, are u understanding already why i'm a little put off?)
  2. He's picky (because he's hot stuff you see) and he needs someone equal to him (mmmhmmm)
  3. He lives with his parents (oh now i understand the hot stuff part! pft)
  4. He works AND goes to school, so he has 0 time. although he is graduating in 6 weeks (one plus!)
  5. He's a nurse (yes, just like my ex who didn't have time for me either)
  6. He lives on the Southshore (i think i may have mentioned this one a few times. But he's only ±30mins away apparently.... YA with NO traffic)
  7. And, last point, is that he LOVES his job and he's VERY talented at it. So, over time and long nights are NOT a big deal for him, because he's saving lives (great. noted. thanks for sharing.)
So... after all his convincing arguments,  i'm like: “hmmm YEs , thanks for exaplining, i totally DO understand why you're single now”Uhhhh. talk later then. k bye

He's apparently a god-like nurse who is busy every second of the day, and who lives with mommy but is TOTALLY hot stuff.

that pretty much wraps it up... i'm really harsh aren't i?!

So, then why am i going on a date with him you ask......
Well, he was nice to chat to, quite funny, sympathetic, honestly curious about me and my life, he's 31, and cute, loves what he does, and through all this texting, i've kind of started to enjoy him.
But, who knows if i'll feel the same on Saturday. I will set up a few of you as my scapegoats!! HEHE Don't worry you will be informed of my whereabouts in case he is a freak of nature! Stay tuned, Brossard 7:30pm Saturday April 17th. I will tweet it live to you all. Be there or be square.

The eharmony gods are talking to me...literally.

Ok, let me start at the beginning....

So i was bored this Saturday and decided to, once again, take my dating life by the reigns. Well, not full throttle, but slowly ;) I decided to peak at Zoosk (facebook's dating site). Let me tell you, it's quite funny. It's free, but you only get 2 msgs between you and another Zoosk member. After that, to see any messages you have to pay for their Premium service.
Ya ok. I don't see who in their right mind would pay for this shitty dating site! It's every Joe-Blo you can imagine who “winks” at you. Everyone's handing out their facebook profiles and msn emails left, right and center. Thing is that Zoosk blocks any email address you write in your message (they want you to pay for their site). So everyone's figured out how to write their message strategically. So much for getting to know each other! Messages are more like puzzles:

Zoosk Guy sends “Wink wink ur cute
So if i'm interested, i would have to write: “Hey ur cute 2, if u wanna ch_a_t reach me at roxy at roxysrendezvous point com.”
That's as far as the conversation goes. If he sends me another message i would have to pay to see it.
And even then, Zoosk might block out a few words. Really quite pathetic.

Some people even start translating their email accounts. Ex: Join me at “le courriel qui est chaud”.... (aka hotmail). Or : Mon nom est Andy, trouve moi sur “ le livre avec un visage” (aka facebook).

Anyway, getting on to the story. i'll have more on Zoosk funnies another time.
Now Sunday rolls along, and a guy i used to date (the guy who's girlfriend showed up on our date, remember him?) is on MSN. So we start chatting. (I'm totally over him and what he did, so i can be friendly again) Then he starts telling me that he's rejoined eharmony; mainly because he had met ME on it and he had such a great time dating me until he fucked it all up (his words, not mine, but i have to say that i concur!! lol). So he thought: why not give this site another shot? So get this : he hasn't even been on a month and he's met someone he's crazy about! So i start teasing him about being in the “eharmony commericals” (sorry eharmony, but cmon! cheese-a-lish).

So as we're joking back and forth i get an email from this guy I had met on eharmony a YEAR ago! Randomly, just like that! And he’s saying sorry he’s been out of touch, but he wanted to know if we can get together for coffee. His name is Kristopher Noneofyourbusiness. Seriously. That’s his hotmail name. Not very appealing in my opinion. Worst part is that I can’t remember if this was one of the random guys that I went for coffee with and then flushed immediately after...or if we never actually got to that stage. So I will have to write him back and be honest. Something along the lines of: “dude I don’t know who you are, can u give me a hint?!” lol I’m surprised however that he remembers me...

So THEN it’s not over yet! I’m checking my Twitter feed and this guy: eharmony_jack randomly tweets me that “236 ppl on average per day get married from using eharmony”. I don't know how he found me, and I didn't believe him, so i tweet'd him back and he sent me this to read; in which it explains that those stats are shockingly true.
The eharmony statistics were literally speaking to me; question is: should i listen ?
So all this to say; I feel like the online dating Gods are seriously trying to get my attention, so if I can haggle a deal on a membership with eharmony then I think I’ll join for a little while. ;) hint hint eharmony_jack ;)
... And i'll tough out a couple more days of Zoosk (over 100 msgs in my inbox today alone!), just to enrich my already funny Zoosk Stories that i will be posting soon! LOL

Think of all the fun that's to come!!!
Spring has officially sprung!! HAHa

Last Year's Valentine Disaster

So this is the perfect time of year for me to tell you about last year's Valentine Disaster.

It was a guy i had gone on one date with. He was super sweet, and SUPER cute. He had one of those perfectly proportioned faces. Clear blue eyes, short dirty blond hair, tall. The whole package, or so it seemed. Our first date had been the Tuesday before Valentine's Day. So, it was only natural that he ask me out that next weekend. V-Day. Eck. I thought it would be totally cheesy, and probably awkward for him if we went to a resto on V-Day. So, instead, when he invited me to do something on that Saturday night, i suggested that he come over to join me and my roomates since we were having a little Valentine's soirée of our own. 2 couples and me. So, i was happy to have a date to bring! He happily agreed .

As most girls would, i thought that maybe he'd bring me a flower or a box of chocs, since it was Valentine's Day and I was the one offering supper and drinks. But this date was different. Oh yes. I'm not sure WHY he would do this, but he showed up at the door with a LARGE bottle of Jack Daniels. No coke, just Jack. Funniest part is that i LOVE Jack Daniels, but he didn't know that! Not very smooth. You show up for the first time at a girls apartment with a big bottle of whiskey?! .. hmmm i think we all know what he had in mind...not a good first impression.

I kept track on what i was drinking, because last thing you want is to be a lush on the second date with all your roomates in the apartment! It's not my style ;)
He was ok. Quiet. Cute. But nothing more. My roomies made an effort to keep him in conversations, but it was a challenge. They all ended up going to bed early.
Then the funny stuff began.

We started kissing. It was an awkward kiss. But he was cute, so i kept trying to make it work. Tongue all up in my mouth; & way too much of it! Then, as we laid down and there was (over the clothes) rubbing and touching, the play by play began...
I kid you not.
He stopped kissing me and said “ I just kissed your neck, that was nice to kiss your neck”
Ok weird. But WTV.
Then he stopped again, 30 seconds later, “i'm rubbing your leg, it feels nice to rub your leg”
Yes... alright. Stop talking and just kiss me.
“Is it alright if i lay down with you?”
Then again “kissing you is good, you taste good. Can i kiss your neck again?”
Yes already.
But it didn't stop. It was a full-on play by play of what he was doing. Not hot or sexy. I could hear my roomates laughing because they were getting a recap on what we were doing!
The final straw was when he stopped and said :
“I just felt your butt. It was very firm. John likes your butt”
(He was “John”!!! ok that's not his REAL name, but for story-telling purposes it be that) He was talking about himself in the 3rd person! I pretty much pushed him off the couch, and sighed loudly. Enough was enough. His kissing was lousy, i wasn't going to listen to the play-by-play and not enjoy it!
I told him he should probably get going.
He said “Give me a minute. Wow. That was the most amazing makeup session EVER!”
He was serious.
I thought: Buddy, if THIS is your hottest makeout session i feel very sad for you! I doubt if he's ever got to the “having sex part” , because any girl in her right mind wouldn't be able to stand the commentary!!! If every 10 seconds he stopped to comment on our kissing, what would he have said when i was on top of him??! I think i would have had to get wild and mussel him!!! HAHAHA

Happy belated Valentine's Day Ladies!

My sexy lingerie designer

Ok, so i'll let Roxy fans on on a little secret. Roxy loves lingerie. LOVE LOVE LOVES it. It makes me feel sexy everyday. And a little secret: I usually color co-ordinate my undies with my top that i'm wearing. Every day. That's how many undies i have!!! ;) lol.
And, it just so HAPPENS, that one of my great friends is an amazing lingerie designer. She works for Blush Lingerie. An up and coming lingerie brand that sells amazing quality lingerie for the price. I have soooo many bras, undies, corsets from her. Too many to wear actually. But i always find room in my underwear armoir (yes. armoir.) when a new season begins.
Spring 2010 is in full bloom. Check out their website www.blushlingerie.com It's HOT!

So, I sat down with my talented friend to ask her a few questions about being a lingerie designer:

[ROXY] What first drew you to fashion design? specifically to lingerie?
[BLUSH DESIGNER] I’ve always been into fashion: the clothes, shopping, dressing people up… but I always thought becoming a fashion designer was a pipe dream. Only after university (graduated in a different field) did I really start to evaluate what I wanted to do in life. I decided that fashion was really something that would make me happy and I was the only one who can make it happen. I didn’t want to invest more years in school, but then I quickly realized what’s 3 years compared to the rest of my life? It was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Same as clothes, lingerie was always something that I loved. I always found that pretty lingerie can just brighten up your day and make you feel sexy! It starts from the “inside”! I have always loved matching bra/panties sets, and I love matching them to what I’m wearing on the outside. During fashion school, we had a few opportunities to work on projects outside of women’s daywear. I always chose lingerie. I knew that it was something I wanted to go into, I just didn’t think I was going to straight out of school!

[ROXY] How do u inspire yourself? Victoria's Secret catalogs? ;)
[BD] I love flipping through magazines, watching runway shows, going shopping. I find inspiration in art and clothing. I love to travel, see what’s out there and what’s different.

[ROXY] Do you have any special collections? If so, how do u name them?
[BD] All my collections are special, lol! There are always a few groups in the collection that I’m in love with and hope everyone would love just as much. We have many groups within a collection and they all have sexy flirty names. For Spring/Summer 2010, we have names like: Swept Away, Kiss & Tell, My Little Secret, Guilty Pleasures…

[ROXY] Ooo..sexy! Speaking of, Valentine's day is next week! What do u suggest us single girls buy for our sexy dates? Oh. And let's not forget the wifies, what would you suggest they buy to impress their hubbies? To rekindle those fires!! One corset at a time!
[BD] I would tell the single girls to buy a cute/sexy set, whatever makes them feel more feminine, flirty and bold. Have fun with it! I would also suggest wearing a garter belt under with your sheer stockings. A hint of the garter will drive the guy mad!!
For the wives and girlfriends, buy something that you normally wouldn’t wear…babydolls, corsets, teddys… or even a bra/panty set in lace if you’re usually a cotton kinda gal. Pick a fun color (one that flatters you or that he likes you in), accentuate your best features (be it top or bottom, or both)! Most importantly, be confident in showing your sexy self!

[ROXY] I'm sold! So, where can we buy ur fabulous designs? and how much do they go for?
[BD] Our bras are generally $34-36, panties $18-24, babydolls/chemises/corsets $56-68. You can find Blush at lingerie boutiques, Simons, The Bay and online stores. All the info’s on our website: blushlingerie.com

[ROXY] wow that's amazing pricing! I've gotta to get to the stores! Nothing better than walking around knowing how sexy you look under your clothes! Makes a girl feel GREAT! One question I have to ask; do guys act differently on dates when they find out your occupation? Do you strategically place it in conversation?
[BD] LOL, I think guys like hearing it. They love the idea that I play with panties all day! It’s definitely one of those occupations you don’t mind telling people :) I don’t really brag about it or bring it up in conversation unless someone asks me. Maybe it’s because I’m still a little shocked that I am a lingerie designer!

[ROXY] Have you ever dated a guy who WASN'T into lingerie? that would be such a waste!
[BD] Yes I did. Let’s just say he was being quite disrespectful about it. It lasted one date.

[ROXY] Speaking of dating, have u got any crazy dating stories to share with our readers?!
[BD] I met this guy online, we had great conversations about our jobs, common interests, hockey…He had a great sense of humor, didn’t mind making fun of himself. He asked me out for drinks on a Friday night. We decide to go separately and meet at the bar. First drink in, I can already tell he wanted out of there. He kept looking at his phone, hoping that his friend would bail him out. I decided it was Friday and I deserved a least a second martini! As the waitress came with my second, he conveniently got up to go to the bathroom so I would have to pay for it. He came back, I quickly finished my drink and left.

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #6

Dating tip #6: Be Confident! You ARE a sexy chica! If you know it, he'll sense it!

We all know how it feels to have someone important to us stomp on our heart and self-esteem. Sometimes it's hard to get past those negative feelings we have towards ourselves. Heck, i'm trying to take my own advice right now!

But, on your date, be someone you dream of being! “It's your attitude about yourself that a man will adopt” Every new date gives you a new outlet to be who YOU want to be! Sexy, charming, seductive... confident.

“Act like a prize and you'll turn him into a believer.”
Quotes are from the book Why Men Love Bitches, by Sherry Argov. It's a strange name for a book, but trust me, if you're one of those girls who are always “too nice” in relationships, it'll change your life around! ;) It did for me! Now, i'll have to buy her next book: Why Men Marry Bitches. Lol
