Deadline Obsessed

Answer this question: Are you living for the present or for the future?

The topic between my girlfriends and I the past few months, is our self-imposed deadlines… with our 30th birthdays sneaking up on us, we're all feeling the pressure. Same pressure, but different goals: finding Mr Right, getting married, buying a house, getting pregnant, or jump-starting our careers. It seems like everyone nearing their 30s is deadline obsessed!

I don't know if this obsession is a product of our parents asking us what we want to be when we're grown-up, or if it's simply a natural occurrence and part of that “biological clock” . But either way, we have to change our minsets! I find we get so focused on the goal we want to achieve… like finding a guy who might potentially be a husband and father to our future children. Ahem… no comment...

But some of these self-made “goals” are simply NOT achievable with hard work and dedication. And they cause tons of undue stress and disappointment. We have to realize that some things are simply left to fate. They will happen when they happen, and we need to learn to be ok with that.

Stop living for your goals, and enjoy the moment! Go to St.Martin and live it up! lol ok yes i'm talking to myself -- i just booked a vaca in St.Martin!! YAY for me!

God knows we all have enough pressures from society, our families, and work; so why put extra pressure on ourselves?

Enjoy everyday! If you choose to ignore the consequences for a little while, don't let anyone judge you ;)

10 ways to feel positive when the man you love walks away...

  1. Spring is around the corner (even though you would never think so with all the snow today...)
  2. There is always ONE friend on any given night that needs a drink just as badly as you do
  3. Your heart’s been broken before and you got over it. So, the comfort in knowing that this too shall pass.
  4. Knowing deep down that he will miss you sometimes. Even if it is just for the amazing sex (he is a guy after all).
  5. Thinking of all the next “firsts” that are to come for you... first flirts... first dates... first kisses... first butterflies... first nights ;)
  6. Knowing that you’re one step closer to finding someone who can give you what you want... someone who will want to share their life with you...
  7. Extra reason to look hot when you go out on Saturday nights, or when you go to the grocery store!
  8. Nights at home just means that you’re getting your money’s worth of your mattress you bought 6 months ago and your new flatscreen TV.
  9. Knowing that the guy who will eventually love you is out there feeling miserable without you, and in a terrible relationship right now!
  10. And finally, realizing that your life is already full of love: from friends, family and your godson’s sweet kisses.

The Good Girl

Some people just attract others. Whether it's animal instinct or charm... my coworker/friend has that je-ne-sais-quoi that draws people in from afar. She's pretty new to the dating world, considering she's been in serious relationships her whole adult life. But, let me tell you, she's wasting no time and now handling men with a finesse that we should all admire!

We'll call her The Good Girl (you'll understand why later in the story). You might actually remember her, I told the story of her first random dating experience a few months ago, and trust me, this one is just as spontaneous ;)

I Almost Ran Over My Ex...

So, everyone knows that you always bump into your exes when ur having a bad hair day, and looking like shit. Unfortunately, in my case, when you've dated about half the city, this coincidence seems to happen more often than not!

How important is it for you to have your friends like your boyfriend and vice versa?

Good question!
I find this is kind of an important question at the moment because it IS important that my friends like my significant other. Even MORE important that my sister likes him!lol But that's a whole other story!! hehe

Friends are the people who are of most importance in my life and will be around BOTH of us if things start to progress into a serious relationship. I find it interesting to know what kind of vibes people get from the guy your seeing. Things that maybe you don't notice or even think of.

Actually, this past weekend, the guy i'm seeing met one of my best friends, AND my best GUY friends—JB and K. I didn't put any extra pressure before “the meet”, but it was imperative that these friends in my life (who are very protective of me) like the “new guy”!

And thank god that they did! What i found interesting, is that THEY noticed things that i didn't. Example: apparently i was sitting on the couch, balancing a baby and a glass of wine (sounds right up my alley right?! lol) and my guy walked in the room and immediately took the glass away and put it somewhere safe. I didn't even notice this. But, this is how my guy friend KNEW that this guy is a good guy! Funny huh? But it's true, my guy (who we TOTALLY need to find a name for now -- what could it be?) he's totally attentive and always pays attention to if i'm comfortable/uncomfortable, and without saying anything he fixes the situation. It's pretty damn nice to have someone thinking of you like that!

Anyway, all to say friends opinions are of utmost importance, as I'm sure HIS are to him! Luckily i already know his best friend, but i'm sure there are a bunch more to meet!

Thanks for the questions! Keep them coming!

If your significant other cheated on you, is it a dealbreaker or a second chance is a possibility?

Great question. My answer = Dealbreaker.
My ex cheated. Not that he would admit it. But there was enough evidence to make it clear to me that i didn't deserve to be with someone who would go behind my back and lie to me. Especially with his ex! If someone can do that once, he could easily do it again. I can't judge all relationships, but in my opinion, if a guy's a jerk, he's always a jerk!

So there's This Guy... i've been seeing

So there's this guy... isn't there always?!... that i've been seeing.

And i haven't written about him much to everyone's disappointment — well maybe once...
I just decided on a new tactic for this one... trying NOT to put pressure on it, or jinx it.

So basically i decided to NOT talk about it, even though he's been wonderful every step of the way. I guess every girl gets tired of dates never working out the way you hope they would. And sometimes when your feelings are involved and “out there” (like mine of the world wide web!), it can get... extra frustrating.

But now, there's good things going on here, so i feel the need to talk, so here it goes. Let's hope i don't jinx this!

so there's this guy...

Ok I don’t want to jinx anything or even say one word about it, but there’s this guy I’m crushing on. And we have a date tmrw night. I’m excited. Really excited. I don’t have a name for him, I don’t want to make up a name for him. He’s a friend of a friend, and I don’t want them to even know what’s happening between us... Weird of me, I know. That’s all for now. Wish me luck! xo

The Goose Got Loose!

Here's an email i got from one of my avid readers, Lara -- poor girl! Her story is one that needs to be shared with the world!

Hey Roxy,

The depths of my dating experiences are somewhat limited, but I now officially have a date night story for the books!

So I was chatting online with this guy one night and he seemed normal enough, decent sense of humor, he suggested meeting for a quick drink. I was hesitant at first, but I thought what the hell why not. We met and had a nice time, but kept it brief as it was a week night. The next day he asked if I was interested in joining him for a movie at his apartment.
While normally I wouldn’t agree to a movie night in so quickly, based on his behavior on the initial date, I thought he seemed reasonable and was a gentleman.

I arrive at his apartment, and it is clean and well kept, not bad for a bachelor. We start watching the movie and a little while into it, he goes in for a kiss, but then I turned my attention back to the movie. A few minutes later he does it again. This goes on time and time again, and slowly he starts getting more hands on. I started to push him away, and he asked why I was doing that, so I explained that I don’t rush into these things, and he accepted that. Except he kept trying to get physical, and I would put the brakes on, over and over. He was getting worked up and a little frustrated at my lack of reciprocation. Toward the end of the movie he asked me if it would be ok for him to “let it breathe”, I replied, "must you", I thought that based on my behavior, he was only going to unzip a little just to relieve the congestion in his pants.
Nope. He dropped his pants, all the way to the ankles, and proceeded to fondle himself.
Sitting next to me. I just sat there in disbelief. Was this actually happening to me?

The movie ended and I announced that I was leaving and he needed a cold shower. He then asked if, instead of the cold shower, I could assist him. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. He walked me to the door, with no pants on. I kid you not.

FML.

The next day he texts me:

Him: So.. like what you saw last night? lol

Me: Still deciding how horrified I am
Him: Why horrified? I asked first

Me: Yeah but I wasn't expecting that. Not something I am used to.

Him: So it didn't make you the least bit horny?
True story.

I am still in partial disbelief. I find it absolutely hilarious, many of my friends have been getting good laughs from it. Are there still some good single men out there? Keeping the faith alive!

So I Have An Online Stalker...

Ok so you would think that you've “made it” in the blogger world when you have a stalker right? Wrong. I have an online stalker, and this is not glamorous at all. Actually he doesn't even deserve all the “press” i'm giving him. I just figured i'd share since many of my friends are worried. lol

So he's this guy who i started chatting with on Zoosk (in the short time i was on that site). I literally chatted with him for like 10 mins. Totally nothing. Generic conversation. Nothing of great importance. My #1 mistake, i added him as my Facebook friend. (mental note = don't do this!)  I wanted to check out HIS profile. Guy's profiles give you soooo much information, and it's a quick way to see if you're even remotely interested. This guy was a quick one, i wasn't interested. He was the “super proud french Italian from Laval type”. Sorry to be stereotypical, but honestly it was a bit ridiculous. Even in his pictures, there was bling, hair gel and car shots. No Thanks was my initial reaction. And honestly, my intuition about him was dead on.

So, like i said, we chatted for 10 minutes. That was that. But he wouldn't let go. He wrote me email messages for days. I didn't see them until 5 days later , when i got around to checking my messages.
5 messages from Diego (fake name don't worry).
The first one was nice: “ I had a super nice convo with you on msn the other day, hope to talk to you soon”.
Later that same day: “Can't wait to talk to you again”.
Ok, that's still nice...
Second day “ When are you coming on MSN? It's the same time as we chatted yesterday and i'm waiting for you. I'll hang out all night if i have to
Third day: “ ...you never came online yesterday. I don't understand. What did i do? Are you not interested? You changed your status on facebook , so i know you're online.
Fourth day. Message from Diego: “ stop avoiding me.”
Reading all these messages, i was not going to respond... All i thought was “freak”.
Then i went on Facebook. He had written comments on my photos, on my status updates, on everything he could possibly get his hands on. And then there were the Facebook messages:

hey bella.... I was thinking, how about we exchange numbers so atleast we can get some txting going on.. some communication would be ideal.. here is my cell....

aiight this sucks.. guess I lost ur interest sorry I was excited in getting to know you.. you could of just told me u werent that interested.. I would of understood.. well good luck to you sweet you seem like an amazing girl..

I felt bad at this point, so i wrote back just saying that i had alot going on right now (which was the truth) and was MIA. I wasn't going to be on MSN for a while, and either way , i didn't think i even owed him an explanation. We didn't know each other and i wasn't interested in starting anything up with him.

Then i got non stop emails:

“I'm in idiot lol. Cause I saw ur profile in the recent activities side think u had time to go and write something on ur profile so I was like fine. Don't reply to my message but go on zoosk. So I wrote ur a message.. So after sending it I see ur on recent activity cause someone sent u a gift. I'm an idiot sorry. I was like how do u retract a message on facebook.”

“Wow what a great first impression I'm making...my bad, and I'm sorry about that. can we just forget that stupid message I sent you and act like it never happened, I would really appreciate that.”

“I should of checked carefully.. I'm a type of person that isn't afraid of letting people know how I feel cause I like to talk about it...communication is important. Just want to say sorry once again and I hope u still want to get to know me.”

I REMOVED HIM as a friend because the emails just didn't stop. This was all the same day. Then the messages kept coming...

“hey hows it going?

“look I saw a beautiful girl I got excited about and really wanted to get the ball rolling and I messed up.. can I have another chance in getting to know you please?

I know he SOUNDS nice, but just the tone of these emails and their frequency are really bothersome. So i blocked him on Facebook. But then just the other day i got this email in my Hotmail account. He must have jotted down all my info before i removed him! Freaky!
The latest one says: “hey how you been.. you look stunning in that pic.. so whats new?”
AS IF i'm going to answer him!!!! He's acting like an online stalker, but thank god he doesn't know my address! You got to be so careful what you put on the internet! & Diego if you're also stalking my blog, read this and GO AWAY!! I'm NOT interested!!

SUCCESS!

UPDATE! My A/C works! My “Installation Date” was a success! My “date” installed the old A/C my friends gave me from their garage. I was elated! And was prepared to take him out for supper and a movie to thank him. But he was too “tired” to even stay... He said he wouldn't be good company in the state he was in and could we take a raincheck? I said “sure” of course. I was just thrilled that he still had come by to help me out!
Turns out, he wasn't after any booty at all! Maybe he is, actually, a good guy...
You wouldn't have been able to convince me of THAT last year. Do you remember him? He was my first official blog post because i was soooo in TABARNAQUE against him! Read that post to find out what had pissed me off so much!
I have to say tho, since then, we've taken a loooong no-talking break, after months we started chatting on MSN again, and now we go to the movies from time to time. And i was honestly shocked that he wanted to help me with this A/C... I thought he must have other motives.
After all that though, i think my lack of feelings for him is pretty clear. I'm pleased that he was just coming over to help me, and expected nothing in return.
At least i know i'm not interested, and he can simply be a guy friend!
On that note, I also want to give a shoutout to my best guy friend, BRUCE, who came all the way out here to help me last Tuesday night. He's the one who did the installation of the first A/C (that we didn't know was broken). Thx JB! Ur the best! xo And also thx to A who gave me this A/C from her garage!  I owe all you guys!

xo kisses

ZOOSK CRAZIES

OK so the last few guys i've dated and/or talked about on my blog have been through Facebook's dating site, called Zoosk. You remember = Guy from the Southshore, The Naked Guy & The Frenchie.
So, i've decided = no more internet dating sites for me at the moment.
I just deleted 267 messages i had in my Zoosk inbox. I can't take it anymore. Naked pictures; "hey baby, you're so beautiful" lingo; names like: MeU69, Fine, Peanut, ALLFORYOU, TurkishParadise, Pley_Boy, BoumBoum.... a wink wink from Mr Bontemps.... then you get the weird pictures of guys w their animals! (HELLO, it's NOT cute, it's scary!)... i could go on and on about the weirdos. I mean look at some of the pics below of what i've encoutered on Zoosk. Oh and don't forget the guy who's harassing me non-stop, and i had to block from both Hotmail and Facebook, because we had a "10 minute chat that obviously changed his life forever"! I tell you... not the brightest people... I'm definitely putting myself in the WRONG pool of men by being on this site. So, as of right now, i no longer have an account.
It's over. If i guy wants to meet me, he'll have to find me at the grocery store. I'm out!

Butterflies

So things are quits w/ me and The Frenchie. Communication is a huge issue for me, and now i know it is for him too. Him and I seem to have floated through the past few weeks without really talking about what we wanted and how we felt about anything... I guess i thought it was too soon to have a serious talk, but now i'm thinking that maybe, if it's the right person, it's never too soon ...

We finally had that talk this weekend.
He simply stated that he doesn't have butterflies.
"Hmmmm.... so, did you discover that before or after we slept together for the like tenth time?" Which was only 30 mins ago by the way. Jerk.
But, hey it's ok. Moving on. More fish in the sea, right? (i know, i hate that expression too...)
Anyway, I'm not sure how many butterflies I even had. I won't deny that I had a few floating around (aka the Wow post!), but i had my doubts that HE was "the one". He did make a great effort though, and did a good job of wooing me. Not many guys do that, so i don't believe that he meant me any harm. We're both just trying to find love in this crazy city! We both deserve butterflies! So many in fact, that you can't see straight!!

I don't know what you think, but I think i'm gonna take a break from this dating scene for a while! Concentrate on being an amazing friend and auntie to all my friends and their kids! They're the ones who deserve all my love anyway xo
P.S. my bday in 11 days and counting ;) kisses!

Roxy's Ramblings

I think all girls, single or in relationships, can appreciate xo And to all men out there, this is our checklist!! So, take notes!  hahaha

Date #2 With Frenchie

Psssst if you haven’t read about our first date, catch up here.

So, date #2! The Frenchie invited me to a BBQ + watch the Habs game this past Saturday night at his friend’s place. I have to admit that I was nervous. I hardly knew the guy, and now I’m already meeting 10 of his good friends! But, surprisingly (again) it went very well! I was worried becuz his friends are French, but in reality I speak French fine, and his friends turned out to be such nice ppl, that it didn’t even matter.

He gained points with me all evening long ;)
U know what i’m talking about girls = ur secret little checklist when ur on a date!
He got the healthy food from the grocery store for us to cook on the BBQ (CHECK= he’s healthy), I brought the wine, he drove us there (we met at his place first), he introduced me to every person in the room (CHECK = he has manners), he let me sit in the comfy chair and didn’t leave my side all evening (CHECK = he made me feel super comfortable), he got me snacks becuz the food was taking a while to cook and he made sure my wine glass was always full (CHECK = he’s attentive), he made sure I got all the food I wanted and filled my plate with all the stuff I liked, he explained all the jokes that I hadn’t understood, and he saw that later on in the evening that I yawned and 5-10mins later we were walking out the door. He definitely knew how to integrate me and make me feel comfortable! I like this dating an older man thing ;) hehe

So, at that point we went back to his place. And his place, let me tell you. Is awesome. I even asked him to break it to me softly and tell me who decorated his place (I thought maybe his ex-girlfriend, his mom....) but it was him! He told me his inspiration and where he bought everything. He even has a few gorgeous art pieces that he'd bought himself. It’s masculine and sexy, and comfortable. Again, the checklist, “check check check” = he has an eye for art and style.

Plus he’s big into music. I’m BIG into music, and he seems to know more than me. His friends all go to him for the latest/best music, and his ipod is always the entertainment for the evening. That’s cool. Big CHECK! Lol

So, after the BBQ, we hung out on the couch at his place and he played some great music I had never heard. And it was late. And I’d had almost a whole bottle of wine. Was too tipsy to drive, but too comfortable to leave ;) Long story short, I stayed over. But now now no judgment; I was a good girl and he was a gentleman. But, yes, it was a fun evening with hardly no sleep! That’s as many details as you guys get on that!! LMAO

I’m sure by now he’s wondering what I’m saying about him on my blog. As you remember, from my last blog post, he knows about it and thinks it's cool. He even chose his nickname: The Frenchie.

So far i have nothing bad to say: it’s all good things! I mean, he even made me a quick breakfast before I had to rush out of his place the next morning to do all the things I need for Mother’s Day!

Stay tuned : date #3 is setup for Tuesday night at my place. I’ve offered to cook him supper. Now, what the hell do I make?!!!! AGH! I need something simple that I won’t ruin/burn, but something interesting enough to impress him ;) Any ideas fellow cooks?

The Frenchie

So.... exciting news :: update on last night's date = it was amazing! Maybe the bouncer has FINALLY let me into the ‘normal’ pool of guys (long story that I’ll explain this weekend! Lol). The date was so good in fact, that I woke up at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep for hours because I was really excited.
And yes, maybe I am jumping the gun here, but I think a little bit of happiness is good for the soul ;) Even if it doesn’t work out in the end. Right girls?!
So, let me tell you everything! First of all, I had a crisis at 5pm, when the restaurant/bar I had made reservations with 2 days prior, called me to CANCEL my reservation! Or actually, to tell me that they simply don’t make bar reservations on nights when there are hockey games!! There had been a mistake made when I had called on Tuesday. I was beyond furious! How dare they call me 2 hours before game time! Making reservations anywhere else in the city would have been impossible at that time!

So, I text my date and explain the situation. Totally in distress. And surprisingly, he said: ‘No problem, i’ll go to the bar an hour early to get us seats’ !!! Wow, I was super impressed! The date hadn't even begun and he was in my good books!

So, 2 hrs later, I get to the bar, and he’s even more good looking in person than in his pictures on the internet. BTW we met over Zoosk — he is the last one I've decided to talk to, because so many of the Zoosk guys are after one thing... and I am getting annoyed! All the things I had sensed about him from our emails were accurate: he’s laidback, funny, chill, speaks English amazingly well considering he’s French, and he was honest about his profile. Plus in person, our conversation flowed so easily, that I can hardly remember what we talked about for 4 hours. And even though the big hockey game was on the big screen, I hardly watched. Which is pretty shocking for me! He was just really interesting to talk to.

I even told him about my blog, and surprisingly he thought it was great! He wanted to know what I was going to write about him, which of course I didn’t tell..... and he’s probably dying to know today! Hahaha At least, for him, he was the one who decided on his nickname : The Frenchie. Which I think it really appropriate, because while leaving the bar he kissed me and man he is a gooood kisser! Not like Mr. Teeth Kisser from a few weeks ago! Ewweeie lol

So, on my drive home, I was already being a typical girl and hoping he was going to call me in the next few days to make plans. But, I didn't have to think about it long, because he texted me last night to say he had a great time and hopes to see me again soon! YAY!
I'm not sure what the plan is for date #2, but I’m really looking fwd!! Stay tuned and have a great day chicas! xo AND GO HABS GO!!!!!

Up Close and Personal :: 2 Dates With The Naked Guy

So, ok two dates to tell you about. Two nights. Same guy: The Naked Guy.
If you missed it: part one of the story here.
So….. date #1…Tuesday
Funny things happen with me ALWAYS, so u guys are probably going to get a good chuckle outta this one. lol
So, it's Tuesday night, we meet for supper, and he's actually pretty normal. He's good looking, tall, health conscious, funny, sarcastic, good conversation, plus he's a internet-dating-virgin so that's cute too! He has two sisters who he clearly loves very much; one who he lives with, so i think that's a good sign. He's a few years younger than me… not sure that'll be an issue, but i'm not basing everything on that at the moment.
So, we laughed the whole supper. There's was barely an awkward moment. I think if was the first "first date" that i didn't have a alcoholic drink with the meal! Good girl Roxy!
So from the restaurant we went to the movies next door. We were early, so we played some arcade games to pass the time. I won at street racing (he didn't know my skills! loll), and then we were in some strange jeep killing giant spiders and bugs together. Some weird games out there today!
Then we saw Shutter Island. WOW great movie. He bought us popcorn and coke :) He knows me well already. It was fun. No awkward moves, no silent moments. Pretty good for a first date i would say!
Then…. we left the movie theater and he realized that he had lost his keys. I totally thought he was kidding because we'd been joking around all night. Come to think of it, that's all we do. But when he sprinted to the door to see if his car was still in the parking lot, i knew he was telling the truth. Luckily he lived only 10 mins away, so his sister came to bail him out with his spare set of keys. Poor guy, i think he was a little embarrassed. We found out the next day that he had left them at the restaurant. Thank god for nice ppl who return your keys instead of stealing your car!!
So… date #2….Wednesday
So, the next day, Wednesday, I felt good about date #1, and we were still texting funny messages to each other. For other completely different reasons, i was having a really sad day, and when my plans fell though for the evening, he invited me over to watch hockey: HABS game4! Wasn't sure if it was too soon or not to go to his place, but i liked his company, so i decided to go.
Now the rest of this might make me sound really mean, but i'm just being honest. And let's pray he never reads this!! HAHAHA
So i get there. Nice house, nice neighborhood. Walk in. And right away i knew that this was his parents home. He said he lived with his sister, but didn't mention that it was the house that they grew up in. The plastic couches in the overly decorated living room gave it away ;)
He lives on the top floor of this town house, great space, despite the childhood teddy bears on the shelves. I felt like i was 16 all over again. The old-style furniture from the 80s, the mess, the dirty carpet… it was all very reminiscent of all my high school boyfriends...
Anyway, i was judging, but i was still open to this working out because i had a great evening the night before. So, we watched hockey, ordered food, went for a drive in his “super bass” Jeep to pick up his keys from the restaurant ;)
Then, he kissed me.
And.
Nothing.
Not even a butterfly.
It was awkward to say the least.
I don't know if it was the vision of the teddy bears on the shelves in the distance, or the fact that he used his teeth a lot while kissing (weird!), or the decor constantly reminding me that he's younger than i am, or him being really insistent at trying to take my pants off (and me having to act like i was 15 and push him off me!) , but either way, I was no longer interested.
I know a lot of people might think i'm being harsh, and to give the guy another chance, but honestly, if u don't feel the sparks (despite me feeling lots towards his god-like arms) then there's no point in dragging things on any further. I don't know what inspired the sudden “turnoff” but it was very certain in my mind that i don't want to see him again.

Now i just have to figure out how to tell him….. THIS is the worst part about dating! Any suggestions?! Help!

Oh and as promised here's the big reveal :: This was his Zoosk picture that started up our whole conversation. He really does have a great body, i'll give him that!!

So I Have a Date This Saturday...

So as you know, i'm playing around on Zoosk. It was really just to laugh about, but i started chatting with this guy from the Southshore and i actually kind of started having fun. We chatted, then texting (no, no SEXTING yet), tonight we spoke on the phone, we've been playing phone tag all week, and this Saturday is D-Day. Date night.

He's invited me to Skratch...
It's kinda juvenile. Like my 9th grade boyfriend invited me to Skratch.
BUT i'm trying not to be judgmental or negative.

Already he's somehow managed to tell me every reason under the sun there is for NOT being with him; he actually listed them to me on MSN the other night at 2am. Not very bright on his part. I really have lost some interest since then. He asked me why i was single; the question I HATE.
Don't u think if i knew WHY i was single, that i would do something different?! Maybe guys are just too dumb that i meet!!
I didn't answer him that way; i mean i am a polite girl. I talked about bad timing and those type of things. So, when i asked him the same, he said: “ Do you want me to list the reasons?”

And i know you you all want to know what they are!! lol
So, here they are: the reasons to NOT be with Mr...Southshore;
  1. He's “hot stuff” (yes he SAID this, are u understanding already why i'm a little put off?)
  2. He's picky (because he's hot stuff you see) and he needs someone equal to him (mmmhmmm)
  3. He lives with his parents (oh now i understand the hot stuff part! pft)
  4. He works AND goes to school, so he has 0 time. although he is graduating in 6 weeks (one plus!)
  5. He's a nurse (yes, just like my ex who didn't have time for me either)
  6. He lives on the Southshore (i think i may have mentioned this one a few times. But he's only ±30mins away apparently.... YA with NO traffic)
  7. And, last point, is that he LOVES his job and he's VERY talented at it. So, over time and long nights are NOT a big deal for him, because he's saving lives (great. noted. thanks for sharing.)
So... after all his convincing arguments,  i'm like: “hmmm YEs , thanks for exaplining, i totally DO understand why you're single now”Uhhhh. talk later then. k bye

He's apparently a god-like nurse who is busy every second of the day, and who lives with mommy but is TOTALLY hot stuff.

that pretty much wraps it up... i'm really harsh aren't i?!

So, then why am i going on a date with him you ask......
Well, he was nice to chat to, quite funny, sympathetic, honestly curious about me and my life, he's 31, and cute, loves what he does, and through all this texting, i've kind of started to enjoy him.
But, who knows if i'll feel the same on Saturday. I will set up a few of you as my scapegoats!! HEHE Don't worry you will be informed of my whereabouts in case he is a freak of nature! Stay tuned, Brossard 7:30pm Saturday April 17th. I will tweet it live to you all. Be there or be square.

The Car Guy is Back!!

OMG that guy who wrote me a random email the other day (read here if you missed it), WASN'T a eharmony guy i had met from last year!! It was the CAR GUY!! The guy i met on the street last summer... The guy who wanted to “cook me breakfast in the morning” mid-way through our first date!
I have no idea WHY he's trying with me again, that was sooo long ago now!

NOPE not gonna see him again!! Tough luck buddy, one date with you was enough !

The eharmony gods are talking to me...literally.

Ok, let me start at the beginning....

So i was bored this Saturday and decided to, once again, take my dating life by the reigns. Well, not full throttle, but slowly ;) I decided to peak at Zoosk (facebook's dating site). Let me tell you, it's quite funny. It's free, but you only get 2 msgs between you and another Zoosk member. After that, to see any messages you have to pay for their Premium service.
Ya ok. I don't see who in their right mind would pay for this shitty dating site! It's every Joe-Blo you can imagine who “winks” at you. Everyone's handing out their facebook profiles and msn emails left, right and center. Thing is that Zoosk blocks any email address you write in your message (they want you to pay for their site). So everyone's figured out how to write their message strategically. So much for getting to know each other! Messages are more like puzzles:

Zoosk Guy sends “Wink wink ur cute
So if i'm interested, i would have to write: “Hey ur cute 2, if u wanna ch_a_t reach me at roxy at roxysrendezvous point com.”
That's as far as the conversation goes. If he sends me another message i would have to pay to see it.
And even then, Zoosk might block out a few words. Really quite pathetic.

Some people even start translating their email accounts. Ex: Join me at “le courriel qui est chaud”.... (aka hotmail). Or : Mon nom est Andy, trouve moi sur “ le livre avec un visage” (aka facebook).

Anyway, getting on to the story. i'll have more on Zoosk funnies another time.
Now Sunday rolls along, and a guy i used to date (the guy who's girlfriend showed up on our date, remember him?) is on MSN. So we start chatting. (I'm totally over him and what he did, so i can be friendly again) Then he starts telling me that he's rejoined eharmony; mainly because he had met ME on it and he had such a great time dating me until he fucked it all up (his words, not mine, but i have to say that i concur!! lol). So he thought: why not give this site another shot? So get this : he hasn't even been on a month and he's met someone he's crazy about! So i start teasing him about being in the “eharmony commericals” (sorry eharmony, but cmon! cheese-a-lish).

So as we're joking back and forth i get an email from this guy I had met on eharmony a YEAR ago! Randomly, just like that! And he’s saying sorry he’s been out of touch, but he wanted to know if we can get together for coffee. His name is Kristopher Noneofyourbusiness. Seriously. That’s his hotmail name. Not very appealing in my opinion. Worst part is that I can’t remember if this was one of the random guys that I went for coffee with and then flushed immediately after...or if we never actually got to that stage. So I will have to write him back and be honest. Something along the lines of: “dude I don’t know who you are, can u give me a hint?!” lol I’m surprised however that he remembers me...

So THEN it’s not over yet! I’m checking my Twitter feed and this guy: eharmony_jack randomly tweets me that “236 ppl on average per day get married from using eharmony”. I don't know how he found me, and I didn't believe him, so i tweet'd him back and he sent me this to read; in which it explains that those stats are shockingly true.
The eharmony statistics were literally speaking to me; question is: should i listen ?
So all this to say; I feel like the online dating Gods are seriously trying to get my attention, so if I can haggle a deal on a membership with eharmony then I think I’ll join for a little while. ;) hint hint eharmony_jack ;)
... And i'll tough out a couple more days of Zoosk (over 100 msgs in my inbox today alone!), just to enrich my already funny Zoosk Stories that i will be posting soon! LOL

Think of all the fun that's to come!!!
Spring has officially sprung!! HAHa
