My 3 & Their Weddings

So, one of my best friends is planning her wedding for next September, and will probably be preggers the morning after. I'm having a blast helping her with anything she needs :)

Wedding planning is REALLY a fun time with a close friend. I've been through it twice in the past and it's some of the fondest memories i hold dear... Wedding dress shopping, invitation designing, paper cutting!! and gluing !! (table placings, thank you cards, invitations), bridesmaid dress shopping (and arguing!), bridal shower planning, bachelorette craziness!, the hair, the makeup and looking super fabulous together :)

This wedding will pretty much wrap up all the “coupling up” of my closest friends. My other 2 best friends got married almost 3 years ago now, both have wonderful houses, dedicated husbands; one has a 17 month yr old (my cutie godson), and the other is beautifully preggers (due this May). I love these 3 girls to death ♥ K,A&J xo

I consider myself sooo lucky to have these chiquitas in my life, among the handful of other super amazing friends i have. I think you get to a point in your life when you realize how lucky you really are to have people around who love you. Who love you for WHO you are. No makeup, no fronting.
They love you on the worst days; when your mascara's running down your face, when you're so plastered you can't put on your own boots, or when all you want to do is call the ex that broke your heart. I don't know what i would do without my friends.
I hope one day, to be planning a wedding of my own... I'm not convinced that's ever going to happen at this point, but “my 3” are, so it gives me hope. I know i will have the best bridesmaids in the world, because they've all gone through the steps. And they also all know that i hate “planning”, so i'll have tons of help there! My awesome sister, who i haven't mentioned in this post because she deserves a post all to herself, will one day be my beautiful maid of honor. And even though she doesn't have the experience yet, of wedding planning, maybe by then she will have! Either way, she knows me in and out, so to have her by my side will be the biggest re-assurance i could ask for.

I consider myself an extremely lucky girl to be a part of these girls lives. And i hope they know how much i love them.

If YOU feel lucky to have great friends in your life, don't forget to tell them. Tell them right now. In person, through a phone call, an email, a text, or in a blog post! Tell them. They deserve to know how amazing they are.

LOVE YOU ALL xox
Thank you Val for always being there for me, for helping me get back on my feet, through all the drama and heartache. For the Godiva chocolates on the days i need a long-distance hug, and for inviting me to TO everytime i need to escape my life! Thank you Julie for being there to heal my broken heart, when i had hurt you more without realizing it...
Thank you Jo for being there and making me get out of bed when i didn't want to go on... Thank you Katie for taking me into your family, cooking me supper, driving me anywhere and everywhere, being there whenever i need a shoulder to cry on, or just some company. Thank you Anastasia&Kiran for being so protective and loving me so much, regardless of my craziness, and making me the Godmother of your amazing child! Thank you James for being a guy that i can trust and lean on when everything seems to go wrong in my day. And for taking care of me the next day when YOU get me plastered the night before!!! Thank you Suli for being able to understand the trials and tribulations of being single! We'll make it through this together! lol

I want the ipad!

Ok so as all of you know, i've ranted and raved about it since it's launch yesterday: I want the new ipad.
I'm not one to talk though, i still haven't managed to save up my pennies for the freakin' iphone yet, and here i am drooling over the ipad. But now i'm thinking, maybe i should save up for THIS instead? Only thing is that, with this in my purse, my shoulder will definitely give out and the about i'd pay in physio bills could make me bankrupt... lol

So, instead of wondering what would be the best purchase for me, let's see pics and reviews of the ipad :)

“Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the iPad. It's got the touch screen and apps of an iPod and the size and clarity of a laptop, and apparently you type on it with your fingers as if the keyboard was flat and plastic. First impressions: This is going to destroy what remains of everyone's posture.
— iPad Liveblog [Gizmodo]

APPLE.com
The best way to experience the web, email, photo, and video. Hands down.
All of the built-in apps on iPad were designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen. And they work in any orientation. So you can do things with these that apps you can’t do on any other device.

dailymail.co.uk
Simon Osborne-Walker from Stuff Magazine tells the Mail Online:
'Apple has finally confirmed the worst-kept secret in tech - the launch of a
tablet computer, the iPad. Yes, shame about the name.
'Looking very much like an enlarged iPhone with a 9.7-inch screen, it uses
the same slick touchscreen experience as Apple's wonder-mobile, but with the
extra size and power to handle proper media and web browsing.

'The importance of the iPad, though, is with the software. Launched alongside
it was the iBook app and iBook Store, which could cement the ebook's place
in modern life - something the Amazon Kindle ebook reader was trying but
failing to do. There's also the promise of interactive e-magazine content to
be sold through iTunes.
'The iPad perhaps isn't going to change the face of computing, but it may
change the face of publishing.'

So, I think my FINAL THOUGHTS are that #1 it's awesome. No one can come close to APPLE's innovative ways of thinking.
And #2, i'll need to see it in person and play with it to know if i should forgo the iphone and get this instead. Stay tuned for my 2010 purchases!! hehe
And #3, for those who wait, next year they'll be something EVEN more amazing!!

But, until then, let's rejoice in everything Apple xoxoxoxox

The Guy Who Didn't Listen...

So, i thought it was time that i told another one of my real dating stories. I haven't had a date since Tiger (it's only been a week after all!), but this date was one of my first ones i had after my last relationship. So, it was about a year ago. The time of year seems fitting to tell this story.

It was shortly after New Years, and i had just decided to join the dating site because i was ready to get back into “the game”. Strangely, right after signing up, i got a phone call from a good guy friend of mine who told me that his friend was interested in me. Surprisingly, it was a guy i had known for a while, AND he'd been at the New Years party i was at a week prior. But he'd hardly spoken to me! I hadn't even noticed him looking my way... so i was really shocked to hear that he was interested.

And, honestly it wasn't a very good first move to get his friend to call me to ask me for my number... But my friend wasn't going to give my number out to just anyone, so he called me to ask my permission. I laughed and said “yes, give him my #”. And i thought: Who knows, maybe there's a different side to this guy...

Then, i got a phone call 4 minutes later from the very nervous guy in question: we'll call him “Tom”. He was definitely eager! And i guess if i had really been interested i would have been excited about his eagerness. lol Things you come to realize a year later! So we setup a date for drinks that week.

The date came quickly, and i never even felt nervous. I guess because i had nothing to lose; i didn't have feelings for Tom, so i could just be myself. I did make an effort, of course, to look good for the date ;) As we always do, right chicas?!
So, things went well, we talked and drank and ate. We met at one of my favorite first date spots: a very animated little bar on Monkland, where a friend of mine works. It's safe, just busy enough, and i knew the neighborhood because i lived 2 streets away! The conversation was flowing well, but in strange directions: he was quoting Edgar Allan Poe... his favorite authors ... his favorite plays... his favorite biographies. Nothing that really interested me... Sounds bad. I mean, I definitely enjoy someone who is cultured, but when every conversation carries back to a book you haven't read or a play you haven't seen, it's not very engaging ...

So, once 10pm came around i decided it was time to call it a night. I was walking home and he was walking to the metro station. We parted on a corner of the street and he asked if i wanted to see him again. I was honest. Which is hard for me. But, he was a super sweet guy and needed to know the truth. So I said that I wasn't quite sure that was a good idea. He was sweet and kind, but I didn't think that i could look at him as “more than friends.”
Then, he took a deep breath and said “can i kiss you now?”...
I was so shocked by his question, that it took me a moment to respond. Didn't he just listen to my awkward ramble about how i wasn't really that into him?
But, before another second past, he was all up in there, runny nose and all (it was a cold night.lol), a very light kiss with -10 rating on the passion scale. It was bad.

Once “that” was over, he pulled away, said that was great and that he couldn't wait to see me again. Oh lord. He wasn't listening or paying attention to my body language at all.
I laughed and started walking away. I said “we'd talk”, not quite sure what else i could say to make him understand. And Tom was so happy! I'm SURE that I saw him skip at least once as he walked away...
3 seconds later i had my best friend on the phone while i walked the rest of the way home, filling her in on the date and the guy who just didn't listen...

Post Date:
Tom called probably about 10 times to ask me out on a 2nd date. It may sound mean to some, but I didn't see him again. I almost caved when he called me on his birthday saying he had no plans (talk about a guilt trip!), and inviting me to his birthday “the snow shoeing day ” he was planning the following weekend. I actually happened to be busy. Really.
I know what you're thinking, but I wasn't going to lead him on when i knew it wasn't going to work! that's my story and i'm sticking to it!

While we're on this subject:: check out THIS awkward kiss!! LMAO!!

TOP 25 Places to Have Sex in America!

Ok , so i'm a little disturbed by an article i just read on www.yourtango.com... the article is called:

Top 25 Places To Have Sex In America

A new book offers suggestions for where to get it on.

From ROXY

This article gives a condensed list of their favorite places from the new book: 1,001 Best Places To Have Sex In America: A When, Where, and How Guide

I'm not disturbed because i'm a prude or anything... i'm actually kind of proud i can mentally tick off a few of these places myself. What bothers me is, who's REALLY having sex in these places? I certainly have not seen anyone having sex in their car while waiting for the drive-thru at Wendy's!!!! Thank god! I don't think the site of that would give me much appetite, especially the “American version” of that!
Also, “high up in a tree”?! Are American's all of a sudden very acrobatic? Not from what the media portrays anyway...hmmm. That seems very challenging, and that's coming from me: the cheerleader!
So, without any further ado, here are the TOP 25 PLACES TO HAVE SEX IN AMERICA (with my commentary! ) :
How many can YOU tick off? ;)

1) In the Shower
(blah blah)

2) On the Shore of a Beautiful Secluded Lake (... just bring a blanket people)

3) In the Locker Room at the Gym (really?! are YOUR locker rooms co-ed? i would not want to see that... unless it's the hot physical trainer... )

4) In the Highest Row of a Concert

5) In the Dark Corner of a Hookah Lounge (don't know what a HOOKAH Lounge is, but i've seen some ppl do the nasty in a nightclub... i might even have been looking in a mirror! lol. sshhh)

6) While You're Out Test-Driving a New Car (what?! that's gross!! Other people drive those cars too ppl!)

7) On the Balcony of Your Hotel Room hot ;)

8) At a Public Library Between the Stacks of Books

9) In the Parking Lot of Your Local Police Precinct (as long as you don't scream too loud!)

10) High Up in a Tree (i guess Americans are all of a sudden very acrobatic...)

11) While Waiting in Line at a Fast-Food Drive Through (obviously the drivethru is not very “fast”, or the guys are record holders!)

12) On a Ferris Wheel at Night

13) On the Teacher's Desk (extra points if YOU'RE the teacher! lol)

14) While Handcuffed to Your Bed At Home

15) In a Huge Lecture Hall During a Lecture (beats passing notes i guess! lol)

16) In a Cemetery on a Dark, Foggy Night (whoa i think i'd be too scared!)

17) In the Stairwell of Your Office Building (sorry Andrew, lol)

18) In a Tent on a Camping Trip (just remember that EVERYONE else CAN hear. Everything.)

19) On a Bearskin Rug by the Fire

20) At the Lincoln Memorial (weird.)

21) In the Confessional (they've been watching too much Californiacation)

22) In the Loft of a Barn Full of Hay (with Clark Kent?)

23) At Your Team's Stadium (the Bell Center's a bit cold, but i'm sure ppl have made it happen ;)

24) At a Sex Museum (didn't know that existed! )

25) Climax, CO (just CHEESY.)

VAMP DIARIES FINALLY on tonight!

I don't know about you, but i am TOTALLY addicted to The Vampire Diaries!! I admit 100% that i'm one of their teenybopper fans! I have no shame in it; Paul Wesley makes me crazy! And it seems like DOUBLE* the number of Gossip Girl viewers agree with me (*stated in Nylon Magazine)!!

I've been anxiously awaiting a new episode in the New Year!! We haven't seen a new show since November 19th!!! I'm in total Stefan-withdrawal ! And FINALLY tonight it's on! Bloodiness is the name of the episode... I'm not sure any of my TV channels will play the episode, but worse comes to worse i'll watch it online tomorrow night. Friday night with the Vampires from Mystic Falls always suits me just fine :)

Personally (now now don't get upset anyone) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Twilight BOOKS. In my mind, nothing can beat them. But, the movies... well, i love them because i love the story so much, and the characters (that i've created in my mind), but the acting... we can all agree.. is not so impressive. HOWEVER, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder in Vampire Diaries... have a great balance of raw hotness and good acting skills. I'm not talking about ALL the characters on the show (ahem... Vicki, Tyler and Sheriff Forbes). But in general, i enjoy the show more than laugh at how bad the acting is!!! lol
I have to say though, I've never read the series of books that preempted this TV show, so maybe I'd feel differently about the characters if i'd read about them beforehand (have any of you?). But, who knows! I have enough books lined up to read, so for now, i'll just watch the TV show that i love so much :)

Read the online article from Nylon Magazine that got me excited about tonight's new episode!! ENJOY!!

Roxy's “solo” once again...

From ROXY
So folks... as most of you have been anticipating from my status updates and tweets... Tiger and I have officially split. It's sad. I'm sad. But, i'll be ok.

Nothing dramatic to talk about really. We were good together... until we weren't anymore. It was mutual, so there's no hard feelings... but it still sucks to have someone confirm that they don't want to be with you. He's got hurt in the past, and so have I (as you all know!) ... so i think that alone prevented us from opening up to one another. And also, i guess we just weren't meant to be!

It's just hard... how do you go from one relationship to the next... open up and just keep getting hurt...? No wonder us girls become so independent and self-reliant. We surround ourselves with the best girlfriends in the world so that you always have a soft, comforting, great-smelling cushion to fall back on ;) (yes chicas, you're my sexy cushions!)

I guess... one day, with the right guy, “love” WON'T bite you in the ass. But, so far, I've never made it that far... I have a few scars, and they will continue to heal as i move on.

Dating again will happen, just not sure with whom! It's so easy to get wrapped up in a new relationship, and be a hermit with the cold weather. I think i'll focus on seeing my friends and family and not worry about the whole dating thing right now.

Spring's will be on it's way soon anyway, right?! ;)
Stay tuned girls, sounds like 2010 will be a whole new chapter for Roxy! xo

Please Help Haiti... They Need Us...

From ROXY

I was devastated to hear about the earthquake in Haiti earlier this week... It makes you put your life in perspective when you hear of life changing destruction like that... Just looking at the photos and reading the articles... makes me want to help. It makes me think... would i be a better person if i volunteered? If i really went there? I would lose my job and give up everything i have... but would it be more fulfilling? would it make me a better human being? ...makes me wonder...

One thing for sure that we can ALL do is donate to the Red Cross to help with the relief efforts. I've done it and insist that we all donate anything we can to help. One day it could be us in that kind of situation ... with the climate these days, you never know what could happen...

I'm proud of the company that i work for; we're all coming together and donating to the Red Cross of Canada to help the victims of Haiti. We've setup links for donations on both of our brands websites (Dynamite and Garage).

All I can ask is that you please donate and help those who are in need.
Thank you!

Is HE cheating on YOU?

Ok so there's this article i found from MADEMEN that i think everyone in a relationship should read. It's called “Is she cheating on you?”.

Reading this was interesting because the advice is from a male perspective, and about “women cheaters”. Honestly though, the advice stands for women as well. We may be of different sex but we all act the same if and when we're being dishonest. The change in behavior is evident, whether you're a girl or guy. Suddenly He (or She!) is Just Not That Into You!! lol

I have to say, from someone perspective who's been there and had someone cheat on me, i think it's a very conscientious article on how things crumble when someone's dishonest. So, read up on the 5 signs! I'm not saying to be over-suspicious, i just want all my chicas protected. I listened to my gut when it was time to, and am better off for it :)

Ciara's just like Roxy ;)

This song from Ciara's new album: Fantasy Ride.

This song is EXACTLY me after my office xmas party this year. LOL!! No more partying for me for a while (yes yes i'm going out for drinks tonight, but you know... no CRAZINESS for me!)

Listen to it HERE
Her new album's great BTW!

Roxy's Top 10 Dating Tips : Tip #5

Stay Mysterious.
Your date doesn't need to know all your nitty-gritty details right off the bat. Intrigue him with your sexy-style & that sexy-smile, without giving away all your secrets.

It's not about playing a game, it's chosing the right moment to reveal yourself to him, and it's also understanding the principles of human nature. “A man will always want what he can't have. When a man meets a woman and she seems nonchalant, it becomes a challenge for him to win her affections.”

From ROXY

“If you start out dependant, it turns him off. But if it is something he can't have, it becomes more of a challenge for him to get it.”

Avatar Sex Scene Cut!

You gotta love PerezHilton. I just read this on his blog :) too funny -- enjoy!

wenn2693909_e.jpg

“Here's something for all you sci-fi nerds to geek out over.

Avatar's leading lady Zoe Saldana has revealed that there was steamy sex scene that James Cameron scrapped from the film in order to protect his PG-13 rating.

Like the guy could have done without a few hundred million dollars!

Zoe says "It was a very funny scene to shoot because there were so many technical things that sometimes you have to keep in mind that paying attention to all those might disrupt the fluidity of how a scene is supposed to take place.”

But don't worry, you can watch all the blue on blue action over and over again when the DVD gets released.

Think the Avatar fellas get blue balls?

Inspiration of the Week

LOVE this! How awesome would it be to decorate your house with THIS wallpaper?! WOW!

“I thought I would share the amazing transitional wallpaper collections of Lene Toni Kjeld today.

Danish Designer Lene has created a capsule collection of patterns that can be used together to softly transition one print to another seamlessly within a room. It is quite unlike anything I have seen before and I think the ability to define interior spaces with a merging pattern {rather than two entirely different ones} is a fantastic and unique idea, especially with so many people living in open-plan housing and apartments these days!” http://www.designspongeonline.com/2009/07/transition-wallpaper.html
